If you already have the clubsport cage it can become a base to build on it. I can help with cage changes.
Or Porsche oem motorsport but it is quite expensive.!
Or buy OMP FIA approved cage and go to a fabricator of cages there to weld it or DIY it.
Here is the link to OMP UK I bought my side bars from them. Top quality steel

Yeah my car is a clubsport and i have the full cage but i was thinking more of a new weld in cage like in the cup cars. I can fit it myself and fabricate extra parts if needed as thats what i do,i have a bodyshop and have done this type of work in the past.
The omp looks good,i was looking at these http://www.customcages.co.uk/Rollcag...=International
What do you think, how expensive are the genuine porsche oem motorsport ones?

I had either a custom cages or caged cage in my m3 race car. Was done by previous owner and he said it was a complete bollox to fit. Was ok once in though.
You could just get the front cage part with door bars and keep clubby cage?

if you want to bolt in cage, plenty to buy.
if you want to weld, do not buy a cage off the shelf and weld in. that's just dumb. find a race shop and have them custom make on and weld in the car. ppl often say they have cup cage, no, they are confused. go look at a cup car CAREFULLY and measure all the members.
i have a good one. but i dont want to use that as an example. grussel had the only non factory cage that i find to be close to cup car and that cage is 5 figures!!!

So Neil is thinking of a weld in cage so I give him options for UK that could work without hi cost.
Nothing wrong to use the oem cage as a base as he already has that, and weld in some more bars, making the cross, the sides, weld it on the floor, deleting all bolts, new connections etc.
If he can DIY it then with little money he 'll get a better cage than the bolt in oem.
It won't be a cup cage equivalent for sure and won’t have the front cross bar or the a pillar attachment etc but will it be far safer than oem? no doubt.
The first is to have the proper instructions and rules to work with good steel compatible with the oem and second is to be a good welder. If he works in a bodyshop I think he can properly measure cut and weld.
Here are the oem cage specs.
40 mm tubing diameter
1.5 to 2 mm wall thickness depending on position
material 25 CrMo 4 steel DIN 2391,NBK. aka "chromoly"
elastic limit 600N/mm2 and tensile strength of 700-820 N/mm2
I also have the IVM pics for the proper places to reinforce.
ps. Moo your cage rocks, your cage builder rocks even more

If you are looking to buy something rather than fabricate from scratch take a look at Heigo. I had one in my 6 stripper and short of a Cup/fully fabricated cage it was pretty good. There are photos of the install if you're interested.
