You only jack the car up enough to take the load off the bar. If you jack it way up the bar is loaded the reverse of the way it is sitting on the ground.
Just jack it enough to take the pressure off the bar and the bolt comes off much easier.

Yup, just as advertised. I jacked the car up enough to unload the front tire and then I checked the sway bar/drop rod connection. The nut was just snugged up to the bar but had no meaningful torque on it. I shot a bit of locktite on the threads and cranked it up to 55 Nm.

Car was as quite as a Christian Science reading room on my test drive. Hard to believe that just being somewhat untorqued but not visibly loose would have made all that clattering but apparently it did.
