You can find the mk2 part numbers on the pet http://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf...T3_KATALOG.pdf
from page 69 on.
Gert at carnewal.com can order all the parts for you.
Manthey sells the package ready for 2450EUR plus 1500 labor. If you go that way maybe you should consider their shorter 5-6 gear set or do a R&P as well.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply
I didn't realise the gearbox internals were on the pet manual.
Are there any other sources for the parts? Is Gert the best man for the parts?
Cheers again

2450 Euro for just 4th through 6th steel synchros? That can't be right. That's got to include the steel motorsports item for 2nd gear as well. We're talking about a part that retails for $225 here in the states, so 4 of them would be $900. That doesn't include VAT and all that sort of stuff, but even that doesn't explain the huge disparity between the two markets.

Like me if my synchros go bad - time for gearsets to match with my r/p : ). If I knew back then what I know now I woulda done both at the same time- wasn't thinking back then. Mike

OK guys
For a non techy can you explain what you have/ would have done once box opened. Don't know what an R&P is ?
Different ratios, and or final drive? What would the performance gains be ( wouldn't need to max 170 ) Steel synchros on 2nd gear?
Or should I just replace worn 4th with a brass synchro and fix it again in 11 years !!!
I'm always interested in performance enhancing upgrades but would really need to work out a budget for this.
As always great to hear from you guys

Or, as others have said, you can put money into gears. You can get two gears for the price difference of all the extraneous fancy bits.
