Talking My new (for me) 996 GT3 **Now with Finished Matte Black pics**

Hi guys,

So after years of watching, driving and lusting after a GT3 (it's my father's fault...), I have finally found one and picked it up.
It's a 2004 Guards Red GT3 with only 25,000kms on it. It was a car bought new in BC and then brought here by another track guy I know last year. He drove it gingerly (read slow) for the last year but said it was a bit too "much for him" and too track focused. It had been for sale, quietly for most of the summer and only this fall did i consider it seriously.
The best part is that he was looking for a recent Boxster S and I had one (2007) that he would take in trade. Perfect!
So we agreed on a price and all the extra's he had along with it (roll bar, extra set of wheels, Sparco seats, Schroth belts etc) and made the trade.
He's super happy and so am I.
Now my wife gets to drive my uber prepared cayman S next year on the track. She's pretty happy about that...she was kicking *** in the Stock Boxster so she'll find this one a blast.

I've driven it two days at Tremblant thus far but now the track season here is over so I have to wait impatiently for summer to come back again.

Congratulations! It looks like a sweet car. I know my wife enjoys driving our GT3 at the track also, she compares the GT3 to our '74 911 track car as a manual typewriter to a word processor! Cheers and good luck with it! Regards, Lou

Congrats!

Most likley my next car. Love 996 GT3's . Since I've known your Dad he's had every 911 I've ever wanted, must be hard being that close to all those great cars. See you next year, and have fun this winter...... skiing, and looking after a nice 996 GT3.
Also love the red with the black wheels.

Cheers,
Geoff

I am liking 6/3's in Red more and more. There is something about the color and the 996 shape that really seems to work. Congrats on the car man. Very nice..... especially with those black stockers... Wow!!!

It's going to be fun next year Chris.

Check the LSD. It's likely done. I replaced mine with a Guard GT2 unit and the thing is phenomenal. No more instability under braking.
