2nd to 3rd- whether stock 996 or 997 shifter mod notchy. Mooty's nicely done stripper 6 with cup cables and box- non whatsoever. That's a bang for the buck mod. Mike

Mooty- everything is for sale but my motivation to sell or keep changes almost daily. I love the car, I just think about how many installment loans I have that I could pay off if I sold it. Fortunately, my wife thinks I'd be a fool to let it go. She even gave me the green light to pick up some Motons!

So, for the time being and at least until someone offers me enough money to part with it, I'm going to keep and enjoy. Part of enjoyment for me and cars has always been blowing money on things that I'll never get the money back out of. I think we all hang out on this forum so we don't feel as guilty about that.

your car is pretty rare. keep it.

I tried a car with a stock 996 shifter and cup cables. It felt fantastic! Don't know if I'd bother with the cup shifter when the cables alone made such a difference.

You want the shifter, it's like a rifle bolt. Besides, how did they connect the cables to the stock shifter?

I agree.

I see that many shop mod the plastic links and fit them. Not good. Better to buy the metal cup links which are very cheap.
