Who shaves their tires?
I find I get better wear and the tires are faster in a back to back test . Nitto/ra-1s, not hoosier os slicks since they have no tread. I don't remember how Much faster off hand exactly but it was significant. My question specifically is if you shave them how much less life to you get? It would make sense but that's not my experience. I rotate them left to right after each weekend since my track is predominately right hand turns and flip them inside out every other weekend since I have so much camber. I dint wait till they're corded however because they start loosing grip at like 30HCs and I get really loose and lime 8 sec a lap slower. What is your experience?

victor, it's not a matter of how long they last. if u dont shave NT01/RA1, they are uselss for the first 2/32" of tread. they squirm and scare you. have them to 4/32 and enjoy.

Don't shave them but get them pre heat cycled... R888's sucked with squirm first session out new, NT01? Weren't half as bad from my experience. I am loving the NT01's, no hoosiers or slicks, but for me being the picky guy I am out there on the track in kill mode every second, they have suited me well recently!
Vic, hope all is well buddy

can you flip NT01 tires inside out on the rim? i thought they had a specific "outside" and "inside" directoin?
would be nice to flip them on the rim to help with inside tire wear due to camber. but any performance, handling issues?

How would you compare shaved RA-1's to Hoosier R6 and R80/100? I know the Hoosiers must be much faster (and the slicks much faster than the R6), but how is the behavior at the limit? I love the shaved RA-1's, since they are so nice and friendly when you slide the car around (super forgiving and WAY better in this regard to Pilot Sport Cups). Are the Hoosiers more on/off at the limit (higher limit) or are they easy to slide/recover as well?

^ some say that R6, R80/100 has no warning. but they seem to have plenty warning to me. i guess it's a personal butt feel thing.u can slide R6 easily just like RA1. but the R80/100 dont like to slide too much.
