Default Wheel fitment question

I'm looking for a set of wheels to run on the street. I like the regular 996 carrera wheels. My car is yellow some I'm just wanting something I can powder coat black for the street.

They are:

8X18 ET50
10X18ET65

How would that do on the gt3?

That would make the GT3 think that winter is here , because the
8x18 50
10x18 65
are the gt3’s winter suggested wheels to use when running winter tyres.

Winter tyres 225/40/18 and 265/35/18

And the front wheel will be 1cm more to the inside and the rear 2mm more to the inside.

996 GT3 MK1 used 8x18 and 10x18 with 225/40 and 285/30
but if you have the 235 and 295 they ll fit although its not ideal.
Also you can use spacers to bring them more out.

Only problem you will have for street driving is your limited tire sizes. You won't be able to run the 295 in the rear on that 10" wheel. It's better suited for a 265 tire.

Thank you for the replies.

When you say limited tire sizes do you just mean I won't be able to go as wide since the wheels aren't as wide?

Correct. The 10" wheel is limiting your size

Perfect.... I just wanted to make sure you weren't saying that I'd have limited choices.

For the street I'm overly worried about maximum tire width, I like the idea of cheaper rubber since I don't really drive the car aggressively on the street.

The other nice thing is that these wheels should be able to do double duty on my 993.

What's the biggest tire a 993 will fit with or without rolling fenders? Mike

Reason for it if my 6 is a dedicated trackcar I rather have a 2nd set of rims for the track. With rims u want it ain't going to happen unless your 993 is a dedicated trackcar. Mike

I'll swear my previous 01 996 ran 10" wheels but the same 295/30 tires that run on the GT3. Just for information the picture in my signature thingy is of my GT3 with a set of 10" rear wheels and 295/30 pilot sports -- they were my rain tires from the previous 996 and remained in duty for a year or so after I purchased the GT3.

Yes as I said 295 fits in 10, its in the michelins manual as minimum width for 295.
Its just that is better to stretch it as its a soft wall street tyre (as any other street tyre) in a 11 wheel.
But 295s defenetely are ok for a 10 inch
315s on the other hand wont fit and would be risky to try and drive a car with them.
