Default Question - two piece PMNA lower control arm for rear

I am trying to reduce rear camber for the street. With the car lowered, I've had to increase camber to avoid excessive toe. I am buying the Tarrett bump steer toe links to help, but I am also thinking that I would install the two piece lower control arm for ultimate control of the rear suspension.

Here's my question. Is the two piece lower control arm without shims shorter, longer, or the same length as the single piece lower control arm? From searching the forum, it sounds as though the two piece control arm is the same as the front control arm, so I can measure this weekend, but I suspect someone on this board already knows the answer and I'd appreciate your insight if you know.

Thanks,

"I've had to increase camber to avoid excessive toe"

Can you explain what you mean, I don't get it.
How low is the car?

Agreed, but now that I'm getting the Tarrett toe links, I want to bring rear camber back to about 1.5 degrees, which I wasn't able to get to before (as I recall). My thought is/was that with the two piece control arms and the Tarrett toe links, I can get to a good street alignment at my ride height.

huh? I don't understand either. You don't need the RS control arms for a street alignment.

Lowered ride height all u need is adjustable rear toelinks with adjustment for bumpsteer. Isn't toe independent of camber and vice versa. 2 different planes of angle. Mike

My ride height is set to 125mm rear, 115mm front. With that set up, the minimum camber I can get in the rear is near neg 3 degrees because otherwise rear toe gets too severe. Perhaps with the Tarrett toe links I can get back to neg 1 to 1.5 degrees, which is my street target without two piece lower control arms.

Factory ride is about what I've got listed above, and factory rear camber, as I recall, is neg 1.5 degrees, but I cannot get that combination in my car right now. It's either ride height or camber, not both.

Given the feedback I've gotten, I think I'll just put the toe links in and see what I get. Sounds like I'll be able to make everything work without the two piece control arms.

Just FYI: Here's an aftermarket 2-piece lower arm from RSS:

Jim if the car is a 996 GT3 you don't need to buy anything to adjust toe and camber.
And you don't need to buy toe links adjustable for bumpsteer with 125mm rear height.

Go to a proper shop and do an alignment.

yea, what John said. it's the shop not the car. The toe links are a good idea but you don't need them for the street really. it's only under high lateral load that the toe gets funky
