Default The definitive Europipe exhaust sound comparison

I put together this video over the last few days.

Had a chance to purchase a Europipe system from one of the forum members (months ago) and installed it just recently. Here were the results videotaped just for our enjoyment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ7ZfF13DJs

Impressions? Same as you have read before. Factory quality parts. Its a lot lighter. I put the bits on the scale and found 18lbs each muffler alone for the Europipe and 25 each muffler for the stockers. At idle sound is slightly richer / Hardly noticeable. Highway driving at say 3000 RPM the system is definitely deeper and noticeable. Holding a conversation is still easy. Car feels just as fast as ever / Perhaps some additional urgency but nothing absolute yet (its 91 ambient here and I don't want to drive around with the A/C on).

Anyhow this should answer all the "sound" questions about the GT3 Europipe.

Yes - thanks. The Europipe has been on my GT3 "dream list" for a few years now. This video really helps!

Your very welcome. I really was expecting a larger sound differential at the moment of installation but I can't really say that I wanted that. You know what I mean?

I mean as long as I have driven this car I will sometimes start it up in the early morning and walk around it as I jockey other cars etc. While it is just sitting there (stock) all I find myself doing is admiring how it sounds. I always have. So the minimal/minor change is actually okay. I really I think the Europipe guys got this right as its probably just about what I wanted.

With that said today was my first opportunity to start the car dead cold (I did the install on it after a good drive - then took it out for another afterword's). As you may have gotten to realize the GT3 puts out a significant growl when started dead cold and allowed to just idle. That growl goes on for about 1 minute (when allowed to just idle) then suddenly the car gets considerably quieter as emission devices continue to adjust. Well, today I experienced that dead cold growl with Europipe bits. Its very aggressive and well suited to the machine. Kinda neat.

We all know the car is an absolute rocket - and I have not needed a loud pipe to date to help with that. So a Europipe seems to suit me well. Plus it was a straightforward install that kept me busy with something fun on a Sat morn.

Pretty much my assessment as well. When I put mine on, I also thought it would be a more dramatic change from stock. The good thing is there's absolutely no drone of any kind inside. I had Fabspeed mufflers on my C2 & they were awful at certain engine speeds.

However, outside it must be more noticeable than I thought-- both my wife and my friend say it sounds much better, the change is noticeable, and I shouldn't even think of making it any louder. I does accelerate a bit better, the 200 cell cats and the larger tubing have to help it breathe better.

Great, straight to the point, comparison. Thanks!

Steve, if you ever sell your car, I would love to pick up your Euro pipe!

call me perverse......but i prefer the standard from inside the cabin. the exhaust always robs the engine of it's induction shriek......just my opinion....

Does your Europipe Exhaust have any DRONE ?

I ask, as I have an after market exhaust system on my 996 TT and it has drone around 60-70 mph,
which makes having a conversation difficult at 60-70 mph. I am contemplating bying and installing a Europipe Stage 2 Quiet exhaust system and would GREATLY APPRECIATE your thoughts.

Very nice, very masculine.

Love how the engine note matches the license plate: MMN, MMN

What version of the Europipe is that? The export loud version? Or?
