Default 19" OZ Ultra Leggeras....will they fit?

Hello all,

I just traded an '06 997 C2S for a '04 996 GT3. I have a set of 19 inch OZ Ultralegerras, 19x8.5 front and 19x11 rear (with 235/35-19 and 295/30-19 tires) that I used as track day rims/tires for the 997.

Will these rims/tires fit the GT3? any offset/clearance/rubbing/etc issues? Or do I need to put those rims on ebay and buy a new set?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

What are the offsets of your wheels?

I'd sell them. Personally, I'm not a fan of 19" wheels on a 996 GT3. I'd stick to 18".

Cheers,

Cheers,
offsets are F: 53mm and R: 65mm

I agree about the 19's, to be honest I think it was a mistake putting them on the 997; but I have a track day scheduled for next week so I won't have time to get new rims/tires before I head out so I would like to get one more use out of these rims.

alternatively: anyone wanna buy some rims?

Why don't u run on your stock gt3 rims? What kinda tires on the 19's? Me thinks the handling won't be so good in our 6's. Mike

I'm not opposed to it, I just like to run street tires on stock rims and track tires on another set (in this case, the OZ's). Running PS2's as track tires gets spendy real quick

19" TRACK tire will get spendy much faster than ps2.

In any case, offset-wise your 19" track wheels might be fine at the rear but will be inward at the front by about 1/2" compared to oem. Depending on your alignment you might run into problems.

Another issue is compared to oem tire/wheel sizing, your front ride height will be close to stock but the rear will be jacked up 1/2".

IMHO, just run your street wheels at the track day and learn your new car. Don't run a setup that might cause you problems on your first track day with it.

Cheers,

Coming from someone who did their first event in their new GT3 earlier this year, absolutely, "+1".

You will have enough going on in the car on track - don't muddy the waters even more with a wheel not designed for the GT3. JMHO

Welcome

They will fit as is, but you'll need spacers for the front to have an identical fit (pushing wheel out 1/2"). The rear is almost bang-on (2mm difference).

Have you considered using these as your street wheels and the stock wheels for track?
