Okay, looks like my wing is at stock position, and I have both 4 and 8 degree shims. I'm going to order a splitter from TRG and see if they can get it to me before Friday. Install seems dead easy.

Anyone know if our cars have auto-dimming mirrors? I want to get a set of "no-blind-spot" mirrors from suncoast, but they aren't auto-dimming: http://www.suncoastparts.com/product...Code=996gt3ext

Warning Number54- if u only order 1 cup lip they will bend it 2 fold to fit in box- ask me how I know. Took a week to straighten lip spoiler. That's why I always pic up on the spot. Mike ps- I dont have auto dimming lights and I dont know if we have that as an option. Mike

Well, sounds like I won't be aligned, nor have a lip! JWE and TCDesign can't take me. TRG isn't calling me back...

How about Roger Kraus for alignment? Does anyone know someone there that can do gt3s properly?

i wouldn't bother with TRG.
JWE and TCD are busy. TCD has about 2 weeks backlog.

roger kraus is good, though porsche isn't their specialty. talk to brendon kraus.

Another recommendation but it's a stretch. Sonnen of Mill Valley did my alignment but that time there was a tech guy who was part of the crew for the Porsche supercup series in Europe and did an excellent job on my alignment. That time he rotated my struts to get the camber I wanted/ installed rear toe links got 3.2 front neg camber 3 rear camber toe zero front slight toe in rear/ corner balanced. Call them up and see if he's still there. Asked for Gary who is the service adviser. Just a thought. Neway do u know when last alignment was done and what were the specs- if recent I don't think u will have a problem on track. Also check dealer for their stock lip spoiler- more expensive though like times 2-$300+. Mike ps- call ne dealers about aligning gt3's if they have a guy who does it well.

^^^ Thanks, I'm going to call the Carlsen & Stevens Creek dealers and see... Anyone have alignment advice? Street spec for my first time out? Sharkwerks doesn't do alignments, right?

Okay, I'm going to Stevens Creek on Wednesday. Alignment (not corner balance) will be done by Christian. I asked and apparently he has a lot of experience, knows about reversing struts...

@mooty: Why not TRG? Customer service issues?

That front spoiler is around $450 after tax at the dealer! I'm really not inclined to get it. Any opinions about the effect? With no front spoiler, what wing setting should I use.

===>steven's creek has christian?
i thought christian was at carlsen? carlsen's christian is good and METICULOUS.

===> ANY business that fails to call me back in 24 hours is not worth my time. if they want to fry bigger fish, then go right ahead. i am just an anchovy.

===> let me clarify. TRG service dept is ..... well....
but call up parts at TRG and ask for peter if he's still around. they change staff often... he's a good nut. ask for motorsport cup car lip. it's not 450.

also call up suncoast porsche. 99.9% of the time, they have the cheapest price of porsche parts in USA.

welcome to the strange and somewhat fk'd up norcal porsche world. but b/n me, 996flt6 and few other GT3 nut cases, we PROMISE to assist you in emptying your bank account, however large that may be. NOW YOU KNOW THE REAL reason AIG had issues ;

^^^ Oops, I meant Christian at Carlsen, good, seems you like his work.

M'kay, I'll leave the wing at the stock setting.

Any recommended alignment specs? Stock?

Hehe, thanks for the assistance emptying my bank account! You'll have to get in line to take a number, and I'm pretty sure my wife took the first 100 tickets

Number54- I believe u can get 2 camber wo rotating strut( rotate strut is for big camber). 2.2 front with 2 rear slight toein rear and zero toe would be a good street/track setting. Just out of curiosity is your alignment off to needing alignment or u want more agressive settings? Ask christian what the specs are on car now- he may say they are good- never know. Mike

I would keep swaybar at stock setting which I believe is one off stiff for both front/rear. U can always fiddle with swaybar later. Mike
