Any Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 Experience?
Need new shoes and have been running Khumhos for the street, but have been hearing that the Yokos are something to consider for street and even track.
Anyone running these?
How has tread life been?
Thanks in advance.

I have about 5K street miles on a set, and just flipped the rears to even the wear. I'm set up with about -2.5 rear camber, so the inside catches a bit of accelerated wear. But, it looks like I will get 8K-10K miles from the rears, which I consider good for a high performance street tire. I have not used them on track, but I understand they have done very well in street tire class autocross. I have R888's mounted on track wheels, and while the ADO8 grip is not at that level, it is very good. And since the tread pattern is directional only, the tires can be flipped on the wheels to extend life. I will probably buy another set.

They rolled well from my truck to the shelf in my garage.
I'd like to know what I'm in for too. Bought them for wet/mixed weather track. Tired of shredding PS2s when the track dries out.
Cheers,

Hey everyone,
I have used the advan AO48's for many track days and on the street. Just switched to hoosiers (R6) for the track. You cannot compare the hoosiers to the advan for sticking to the track.. but I was getting reasonable track times with the advans. They were excellent on the street also. The car is not a daily driver but I did get caught in the rain a few times with the AO48's and everything seemed OK. I got a 1:44 at laguna with the advans. I think I would be sub 1:40 with the hoosiers easily.

I don't have any experience (yet) with AD08's although I just bought a set to use as my wet/intermediate track tires, but I do have experience with the previous generation AD07's. I had 2 sets of the AD07's as track tires for my Cayman S and 6GT3. They were great tires with good wet track performance and great dry track performance. Got 20 + track days out of each set plus about 10,000 street kms. I'm definitely a fan. YMMV.

20 track days + 10,000kms? WOW! Tires must be hard as rocks. Thanks for the feedback, Steve.
I have a track day tomorrow and the weather should be dry, but rather than waste my R6 on my first (rusty) day of the year I think I'll abuse these AD08 and see what they're like.
Cheers,

I really like my AD07's, they are my street tire but used them once at Seattle in the wet and they performed really well. Planning on sticking with the Yokos and getting the AD08 next time.

This is an interesting post. I'm looking for a set of tires I can use every day but take to the track occasionally and I am tired of spending all the $$$ on PS2s. I may give them a try. Here's the tirerack report on them.

I like them more than PS2s as a street tire and they are less $$$.

ok, I had my first dry track day with them. Not sure on lap times, but I had to point a bunch of people by that I never had to give points to before. Mind you, I was running Hoosiers or Nittos last year.
These suckers squeal like a stuck pig. Great when you want to know when they lose grip (which is all the time). Even braking at 100mph they chirp a lot. Braking in a turn the inside tire chirps as it locks up momentarily. Predictable when you push it too hard and they let go. That guy on Tire Rack that said they have awesome grip hasn't tried nice R-comps before.
Pressures used were 36f/39r hot. Anyhow, the dry performance was decent for a street tire and the outside shoulder tread cap design looks like it'll stand up to a lot of abuse. So far, so good. That tread design alone makes them worth way more to me than PS2.
