Default Rear bumperettes

Anyone replace their bumper boobies on a 996? Someone crunched one of mine the other day. I think there is a set screw behind the cover.

Thanks.

Look along the bottom of the bumperette. You will see a hole or a removable cover with a hole under it. One large allen wrench later and your bumperette is off.

So the cover can just be squeezed off? I don't see a hole under the bumperette. The cover needs to be repaired. what's behind it is probably ok.

Pry out the small cap with a small screw driver or pick. The Allen head bolt is vertically oriented, and a long handle wrench or a socket with an extension is required. IIRC its a 6mm.

I misspoke dertub; they are different on the GT3 vs. my previous 996.

Whoops. Sorry Tub. SH is right... We are talking 996 Carrera. I just went & looked at the GT3 and cant seem to see any other way than removing the rear bumper as a whole.

Look to the Sharky thread for some pics of the bumper removed.

That's ok. I have a 996 GT3 also, but it's my plain 996 that I'm talking about. I post here because the GT3 people are smarter !
