When talking earlier about the exhaust system possibilities, this is what I had in mind: <http://designtek.eu/design-tek/produ...rsche-996-gt3/>

...to give a smooth +37 Bhp increase at 8000rpm...

add the exhaust +37, an IPD plenum +24, a fabspeed open filter +24, a softronic ecu update +30 hp and you reached the magic 500hp without ever visiting a real tuner! plug n play! Besides tuners.. what do they know..open engines etc?..
phew.. : )

Looks good but again as we discovered when tuning this car... you need to manipulate what the ECU is calling/looking for. It's reading the back pressure/heat values at the 02 and when you change/move etc.. the heat ranges do as well. The engine is tuned for a certain back pressure so you not only need to find the correct tables but then try to manipulate the heat ranges/values... You will loose TQ/hp and it'll run in a safe-like mode because of the big change in back pressure

Yeah, I know it's an "older" thread but still. I went to the beginning but all the pictures are gone. Why? It's an awful tease
Never mind, just saw the pics on the SW website

Of course you can dismiss their horsepower claims, and Alex is right on; perhaps with the proper tuning of the ECU more power might be possible. What attracted me to this design is it is simple, much lighter, and, just guessing, sounds better than stock.

You'd be right there... it'll sound pretty darned good like that I imagine... And no doubt there's some weight savings. I'd ask them if they've worked with anyone to do a custom tune to minimize the loss of power down low etc...

The magazine is now out in the UK and online but US folks will have to wait a few weeks... You can check out the issue here (check the cover where it says GT3 Remix)
