Okay, thanks for the response. I know CCW also offer painted wheel (slightly more $$$, I think $50/wheel more?) so I guess that's another way to go about it.. But hopefully they are working on better anodizing process now.

I have a set of CCW 3-piece Classic Race wheels that were custom built in 18x9/18x11. They are $2200 a set + options (bolts, finish). Weight is 18 lbs front and 20 lbs rear. Customer service is hard to beat from CCW. I've sent them a wheel and they were able to rebuilt it and sent back all in the same week. If you go with the 1-piece wheels they are about 1 lb lighter a wheel, but I would like to advise you to seriously look at a 3-piece wheel.
In a recent track outing, I evidentally had a rear tire that was losing pressure. Coming around a left hand downhill corner at peak grip, the tire popped off the outside of the rim. I went about 100' with the rim rubbing the ground. Had this been a 1-piece wheel, it would have meant buying a new wheel. Since it is a 3-piece wheel, it was just replacing a rim half. $150 for a rim half is a fraction of the $700 for a new one piece wheel.

Thanks for the pics!! Glad to hear that they are improving the process. Although in the 2nd pics, the wheels look purple? I am guessing it is just the lighting? (since you mentioned that they look almost new)
Any reasons (if any) why you didn't go w/ the painted option? (just curious)

cfjan - I had 2 sets of CCWs c-14 for my GT3. Had about 110 days on them between the 2 sets. My original set was 3 years old and turned from black->blue->purple->gold. My second set was 2 years old and looked almost new with no color change. I spoke with John at CCW about it and they changed the way they anodized them. I sold the wheels so have pics .

Paint is heavier. Adds weight. Slows you down. ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Ryan, thanks for the pics. Yeah, I'd say the top pic (in your first post) is a problem.
I think my black C10 were made in Feb or Mar of 2008. They are blacker than your second pic (in your first post), but I don't have a ton of days on them yet.
Cheers,

Thanks for all the info everyone. I emailed CCW for more advice on my specific needs for the car.
BTW, I found the weights of the stock 996 GT3 to be:
Front: 18x8.5 (around 25lbs)
Rear: 18x11 (a little over 27lbs)
I averaged the numbers from different sources for a rough estimate. Do those seem right?

Yep, a full set for about $1500.
You can get two sets for about the same as 1 set of CCW's.
No offense about the CCW's they are great wheels, and their customer service seems to be top-notch.
Just giving other options.
