pardon my idiocy, but why should a potential buyer like me care about the crankcase fabrication? I mean I assume there were some issues with one over anohter, but please elaborate...

Also, to seller, please post more pictures. and do comment on condition of the LSD. thanks

It is a wonder that any metal parts are worked in Germany. The German companies prefer to let other countries face the manufacturing environmental issues. Most Porsche wheels are made elsewhere too, like Italy.

Hey guys, this was my old car... I was owner #2 and I miss her so much. Wish I never sold her but got a silver gt3 right now, that's how much I missed this baby

Jeff is a great guy and its such a small world that we crossed paths and happened to find my old girl in the hands of such a great porsche enthusiast. Anyone can pm me or ask questions on this thread in case you have questions... I bought her with 3300 miles, traded it to the dealer with 5ishk miles I believe. I picked up a 997 c2s, hated it and picked up another gt3 (this time silver)

Although I do like my current toy, nothing can replace the special bond I had with my red beast, now she's better than ever with everything jeff did to it... I'm sooooooo tempted, please some one buy her.... or not, damn you jeff!!!!

Clearly a driver after my own heart, esp: re: 997 C2S after 996 GT3. Unfair comparison, but a real-world one nonetheless.

Jeff: JvO drove the same 997 GT3s I did, both standard and RS, and came to the same conclusions I did: uh-uh. At least in stock form.

With an alignment and some setup stuff, he loved the 997 RS. I never got there, but I never tried one with all the "right" tricks. My big problem with the 7 GT3s wouldn't really show up in his world anyway, and that's that I feel the PASM dampers allow/induce too much body movement —*unloading the tires and reducing grip (or, more importantly, your perception of grip).

To my knowledge, JvO has not driven a 996 GT3 with RS suspension. Neither have I.

One thing we both agree on: In the 996 you had to work to get the front to stick before really turning in — so you had to mind the nose. In the 997 the nose goes where you point it when you point it, but it's the rear end you have to worry about.

My take from watching the reactions of others: there seems to be a lot of people who have tried to "adjust" the 997 GT3/RS chassis into a place where they were happy (understeeer and oversteer), where I just didn't see that with the 996 GT3s...

My two cents? Keep the car.

pete

I wish those M003 and M004 parts are available separately.

I want to switch my leather CS seats into those fabric one to start with.
Good luck with the sale.
