It's stunning car. We all know that these are iconic racecars and this one is looking awesome! I like it in white and with the miles on this one I can only imagine the kind of condition it is in! Congratulations, I am really jealous ;-)

Can you imagine that these cars are about 200k USD and up in Denmark - it's sick :-(

200k USD when new right?

@ Wilfred.
Unfortunately not. We have a 180 % tax on cars and we have 25 % VAT on everything. If I buy a car outside of Denmark I will then have to pay somewhere near 180 % of what I paid for the car, just in tax. Price in USD 60,000 (purchase price) + 18,000 (30 % VAT and customs) + 110,000 (180 % tax) + 3,000 (shipping) = 191,000 USD
This would be a rough estimate when importing from the US. I 2004 GT3 with Danish license plates will set you back around 200-210,000 USD theses days. This makes good sense to me, since people usually are willing to pay a little bit more for something they can see and try instead of importing something they don't really now what kind of condition is in.
For comparrison, my car a 1991 Carrera 2 with 100,000 miles on the clock cost me about 75,000 USD 1 year ago.

Joe,
I am game this month if something is up. Maybe we could get some fellow GT3'ers there too. I still have not replaced the windshield from Big Willow last month. My windshield guy, Dana, had a heart attack for New Years! He is only 50!
Anyway, you are going to hate this but I have the itch for the 2010 RS. VJ has been offered a build and he does not want it and is willing to pass it to me. I have until 1/14/10 to decide. Honestly, if you had the cash flow right now would you even consider it although the 996 GT3 is going down in history as the best drivers car of all time??? With all the work done to mine I would think I could see $60K for it??
Fuel for serious thought.

The 997.2 GT3 RS will also go down in history... maybe as the last great driver's car, following the P-VW wedding

FFaust, thanks for the encouragement. Agreed, the 2010 RS might be the last of a run for a long time. I am not sure if you really understand how rewarding the 996 is and how hard it would be NOT to be able to drive it. I cannot have both.
Joe, POC is there on the 24th. We would have to behave since they will put us in the STS. May have to set up "tent"?

So some guy buys a nice car, parks it for a while until he can get to it, and then forgets it's in the garage?

I hope that you are able to find one. Especially right now. It looks like the 996 may now be at the bottom. It would be a dream come true to find one at a reasonable price with less than 10K miles.
Finding someone to let you drive there is tough. There are only a couple of folks that I would let drive mine and each of them are professional drivers. And it is not to say that GT3 handlers are super or anything, it is just that is takes a little time to understand the impact of your inputs while taming the beast. There is nothing to bail you out in a 996 GT3.

This particular car must belong to a collector and I hope the price stays there!
