I watched a well restored regular yellow 308 Ferrari go for world record price recently. This car (white 2005 GT3) would be an even better purchase than that F-car so its certainly not unheard of. Honestly the prices I have seen on run of the mill 6 GT3's is too low. People are getting great deals on epic cars (lucky them) because of the impatience of sellers who want the next new regular production thing. I will hold onto my '04 and continue to look for a '73 RS to have next to it. Keep it epic lower production cars for me please. Hope someone snaps up this white one for real money.

Finding someone to let you drive there is tough... No worries, with that pedigree, I don't think that I need to. This will be a long relationship where we get to tame each other over time.

There is nothing to bail you out in a 996 GT3. Yeah, I know but that's ok, I've got lots of time to learn to "tame the beast". Key word is respect
The 6 GT3 prices reflect the general lack of appeal of the 996, which is good for me. Being a true driver's car though, it's only a matter of time before its value stabilizes and starts moving up.

There do seem to be a few nice ones out there. The challenge is to avoid the pigs with makeup...

the 205 miles GT3 is nice.
but no way in hell will he get 90k+, i can buy 997GT3 cheaper than that.
and sorry guys, after having 4 6gt3 and 4 7gt3, there is NO question given equal mod, the 7 is the better car.

Moot man that's cool. But don't you get it yet?

The 993 is a better car than the RS America. The Lambo Gallardo better than the Countach. The 430 Scuderia is better than the 360 Challenge Stradale. The ZR1 is better than a split window... But, the RSA is still the RSA. And the Countach still the Countach and the 6 GT3 is the 6 GT3 & so forth.

You cant change that.

MB, i get what you say.
if i had more dough, i would have never sold my 6gt3.
but it seems that this discussion is about what's better and without more specifics, better = faster lap times. 7 is faster.

feel... i think 6 is riding a bull, date rape.
7 is riding a tamed horse, consensual

both are exciting, depending on mood.

but, yes, i would love to have 73RS, 74RSR, 964RS, 993RSCS, 996RS, 7RS, 7.2RS... help me

Mooty, Are the 7GT3 tubs a lot stiffer than the 6? Also, what upgrades (aside from engine mods) would a 6GT3 need to make it equal to a 7GT3 performance-wise?

well, it's stiffer, but i can't quantify what is "a lot stiffer".

it's more planted.
much better turn in.
i htink you can use 997 front uprights on 996 and make it turn in better.
note: i say the 7 is better, but it's not MUCH better. a better driver in the 6 will dusty the 7. i know b/c 171mph dive bombs me all the time.... and he's in a 6.

with that said; if the price were equal, I will take '73 RS in a heartbeat.

that is going to make 996 GT3 more collectable. Give a few more years, there will be fewer 996 GT3's left.
