Default Has anyone built a 996RS rep?

Just curious,( I have a 997RS but drove 6RS in Europe a couple of years ago).

If you bought a well used C4S, and a written-off GT3 for the running gear, would it be possible to build a rep?. You might miss single mass flywheel but I suspect most of the rest would be doable.. Of course there is lots of CF , wings, and so on).

from my recollection, this was available recently. a pretty extensive RS-rep car, lots invested, pretty well sorted/detailed to RS spec.

good luck!

Maybe I'm missing something but what would the 4S be for? The 996 RS is a variant of the 6 GT3 no?

You are right..my error. I have the 7 GT3 which is widebodied, so erroneously assumed 6 GT3 was also.

If you want a 6 replica you would start with a white REAL gt3. Trying to buy a wrecked GT3 for the engine and a standard carrera and made one car from both would be economic suicide.

The 7 gt3 rs is so beautiful that it would make sense to build a replica from a non RS.

RS stickers and wing don't bring a lot to the 996, except it's a real RS

I have an rs clone like the one in the link but I started with a 6 gt3 not a 4s it costs about 30k to do it right. How would you start with a 4s widebody? Get rid of the 4wheel drive??

The one we had, along with the sister car, was built by Premier Sportscar Service.

Here is a gallery of the sister car:

The one we sold had extensive upgrades over and above the RS conversion. Both of them are in private hands currently.....but if you want one built right, have Premier do it.

30K seems expensive however, do you have a list of parts that are expensive ?

all parts are expensive!! I have a 10 page list, specifically the drivetrain, suspension and body are the worst.

The RS suspension is like 8k from carnewal, you could start there.
