Do you know if it is a 4-pole setup or a 6-pole setup?

Thanks for the info.. I assume that most race shop would know how to install that.. ?!

Never mind, I just looked up the 6 pole instruction.. looks pretty straight forward.. as long as one can pick out the right wire...

Bzzzzt-bsszzt-crack! Can this thread come back to life after almost 2 years? It has before!

Seriously though guys I need some help with my 996GT3RS kill switch. It seems my car came with the red loop under front hood which is attached to a small metal toggle switch. so far so good - i assume its the clubsport unit. But it dont do squidly. Problem is per the P workshop diagrams there is supposed to be a solenoid between the toggle and the battery which isn't there. P don't sell just the solenoid - figures - but the kit is at least USD700 and I don't need it really as all the wires and switches are installed ex the Solenoid. I was wondering if I could just use a regular solenoid to do the job?

Any wizards or other bearded types please let me know if this is one of those times to pop down to the corner store rather than the PC. And if so, what do I ask the friendly neighborhood sparky for? Thanks!

The interior cut off switch / wiring / battery module were not installed from the factory in the clubsport mk2 GT3s and 6RSs; only the front red loop/switch was...
The rest of the stuff were delivered in a box with the car.

Thanks John - seems those didnt make it down here for some or other reason. Can I hack it with a regular solenoid or are you saying I need more than just the solenoid? I'm talking about the external c.o. only.

Maybe these will help

996 613 185 70 - this is the part number for the installation kit if a centre console exists

996 612 921 75 - this is the other installation kit for the M003

Both of these are assemblies of parts, but

Looks like the part you could be looking for is:

996 612 227 70 - battery main switch.

Smile I just saved N years of RL membership - STEAL!

cheers RSRS, v12man (Egoli ) - that's perfect - I knew the $650 price (I flippin kid you not) was wrong, especialy as I have the cord/switch already installed and I'm just missing the solenoid/cables that attach to the negative pole and basically kill all live power throughout the car. Both post very helpful thanks and the rennline versions look perfectly usable. At something around $100 shipped seem a little more reasonable too.
I await some feedback from a motorsport sparky before continuing but I'll make sure to which feedback here then.

Cheers folks!

To make my question more clear, Why would i go for a 2 4 or 6 pole switch

What are the reason to go for one or the other???

This is a setup for a 6 GT3 What should i install??

Tom I have the complete 996 RS Clubsport kill switch setup installed on my 6GT3. Bit of an issue getting it installed but it's in. I don't currently use it as I don't have hood pins (yet) so if the external one is used I'd have to jumper the hood opener. I think Bernie at Bullet had a look at it when he saw my car at VIR in the fall.
