They rank the top-100 driver's cars and the 996 GT3 is ranked #3 on their list. The top-10 are

1. Zonda F
2. 340R
3. 996 GT3
4. Caterham R300
5. Megane R26.R
6. Elan
7. Clio Trophy
8. F50

10. Evo VI Makinen

I haven't read the article yet as I had a friend text me this last night. Going to have to check it out in the newstands soon!

I wonder why the 996 gt3 is there and the 997 gt3 isn't.

Driver aids perhaps?

Don't know on that one. The 997 GT3 RS did come in #11 on the list.

Years ago I had a guy ask me the same thing while I was at a Ferrari event. I plopped him in the passenger seat & had him do a short video.

He bought a speed yellow 996 GT3 shortly thereafter (still has it).

If you were anywhere near close to me you could have the same treat. No charge.

MB, the video looks to be at Autobahn CC, south course. Can I take you up on the offer?

Do you know much about the local cars for sale?

Thanks,
Mike

I had a student at Road America earlier this week with a 997 GT3 RS. I have to tell you, that engine pulls strong all the way to 8k and sounds fantastic. It is an amazing automobile. It had PCCBs. even with performance street tires, it was AMAZING. I did not drive it, and my student was not so aggressive, so I don't know what it did at the limit. My 996 GT3 felt great as well. It is a good GT3 track. But higher hp cars left me in the dust...mostly massaged turbos and a track 'vette.
All in all a great 2 days with the Badger Chapter ACNA.

This is a great result for the GT3, the list of the top 100 cars was a mouth-watering array of classic and modern cars. Mclaren F1 (71st!) Ferrari Enzo (58th)Porsche 964 RS (37th) 911 2.7 RS (28th) Ford GT (14th) Ferrari F40 (12th)
The summary was of the article "Many would have tipped the GT3 to win, but Stuttgard will have to settle for 3rd this time. I have to confess that I love the 996 GT3 so much that I've spent long evenings thinking about spending what I was saving for a house deposit on a swoopy spoilered wonder instead"

Hand held (as in passenger's hand) on the track = black flag

Default Excellence Mag also picks the 996 GT3

Excellence compares the 997.1 GT3 to 996.2 GT3 and prefers the the 996 overall.
