For you higher mileage (50k miles) GT3 folks, I was curious what parts start to go bad in the car as you accumulate the miles. I got mine with 50k miles and is contemplating getting EasyCare warranty since Fidelity does not cover it. I am not sure if other companies cover the Gt3 besides EasyCare but wondering if it's a good idea to get the plan.

1. Heater relay
2. Ignition key electronic fobs seem to eat batteries like a teenager eats pizza.
3. Both vanity mirror covers fell off
4. Brake caliper clear coat is peeling off
5. Wheel paint is peeling and pitting
6. Ignition switch assembly gets sticky
7. Tires (one per year), oil (twice per year), and brakes (every 2+ years).

Gate58,
I'm at 50K miles and have never had any issues, (no gremlins or major repairs). To share my experience so far, I follow the Porsche recommended service intervals and use only approved/recommended parts and liquids. I'm still running on the original clutch, replaced PCCB pads at with more than 50% of life left around 40K miles, oil changes 3-5K miles depending on driving style and conditions. At 60K I'm planning to change engine mounts (oem only, but damn their expensive), transmission mount, transaxle fluid change with Delvac, spark plugs, cabin filter and a few other small things. I'm also considering having the coil overs rebuilt at 60k, although it would be just preventative to keep the car running like new.
There is some cabin noise from the rear shock towers when making tight turns at low speeds and some very faint creeks from the dash when hitting bumps, but that's about it.
Of course I still go through 2-3 oem chin spoilers a year + 1-2 sets of rear MPS2's. I can't complain.

at 58k miles, we go through a lot of tires in a year, and there are a few REALLY annoying faint rattles in the passenger compartment (in the door, the airbag area makes a creaking noise as does something in the dash pod and up where the interior light assembly is) But it IS a 996 interior afterall....
Had to replace the front trunk solenoid, starter, and we've suddenly developed a weird issue with it pulling to the right under acceleration (noted in another thread).
Other than that, oil changes every 5-7k miles, scheduled 15/30/45 and soon to be 60k miles. And only been through 2 front splitters!

Hey Bob!
I haven't been doing nearly the job that you and Nadine have at racking up the miles. I bought back my old 996 C2 from James S. and have been driving that on the street. Didn't even put the street insurance on the GT3 this year.
Put new 2-piece GT3 lower control arms this summer. Haven't driven it since then.
