New GT3 owner- highest mileage in US?
Hello,
Just picked up what I believe to be the highest mileage GT3 in the country (81,xxx miles). It's mechanically excellent, aesthetically a little challenged. Car belonged to a good friend who had actually allowed me to drive it at a DE when it was new. Have lusted for it ever since and now it's MINE!!!
Maybe I've just gotten used to the crummy air/HP in Denver, but driving the GT3 in MN feels REALLY fast compared to my 996 C2. Will have to see how much worse it feels in the thin air of CO.

Congratulations! Your 81k+ makes my 36K+ look new.
Love this car. Still can not believe its mine.
Hope you plan on tracking it, it turns into a completely different animal on the track.
Good luck,
Joe

congrats. I sold mine with 61K back in March. It is now a dedicated track car in SoCal. It is not the air it is the car. When I moved from a 2002 C2 to the GT3 it was unreal. I smiled every day. Have fun, I look forward to hearing how you like it in December :-). I had a 280Z when I lived in Cottage Grove. I was puckered all winter.

I have 8600 miles (14000km) on mine; hopefully it makes it the 61k without any major drive train issues. Congratulation on your new ride and with any luck, many more trouble free miles in the future.

Got a set of snow tires with it. It will be used all winter in Denver. I'm the CDI of the Rocky Mountain PCA region. Car will be on track, at least a bit on Saturday. I also got a set of the floating hat Brembo rotors, and track wheels with MPSC's. My only fear is I'll like it a lot more than my dedicated race car (an '89 Firehawk 944S2).
Lack of O2 density in Denver sucks. No way around the fact that any NA car loses almost 20% power vs. sea level.
I haven't been this excited about a car since purchasing my first 911 (an '87 Carrera) in December '94.
Thanks for the welcome,
Joe

Congratulations, that's awesome. My '04 has 42,000 miles. I probably baby more than I need to but it still absolutely rips! I drive it hard but I always shift around 7700-7800 rpm. Probably just making myself feel better.
Like 4porsh said, get it to the track. They are amazing.
