Has anyone installed a modern nav + bluetooth + iphone head unit in their GT3?

Also, who has carbon inside? GT3'er did you install the horseshoe yet?

I'm interested in pictures, what you put in and what it cost, it's been a while since we had a good pics thread

With Hi-Fi stuff, you'll have better luck in the 996 forum.

believe it or not I have an aftermarket head unit because i used to drive to the track the stock system almost made me stick a pencil through my ears. I never removed it...but in a gutted car the cabin can ring like a bell with certain frequencies. If you have carpet you're fine.

I went with alpine with an ipod connector and separate a 80w 2 lb(!) amp. I also have 2 way light weight focal speakers (audiophile) in the stock f/r locations and a removable sub in the passenger foot well. With the sub removed the whole system weigs about 10lbs.

You can get a flip up unit that has a touch screen with Nav and all the goodies that fits in the stock place.

As far as the carbon, theres an OE replacement.

These cars come with a radio?

I am going to go look at mine to see if that is factual... Radio? Who would have guessed?!

My radio sounds great, when I am in my garage with the engine off.

Fun thread. No, I haven't installed the whoreshoe or the gauge surround. Need to find some instructions so I don't break anything taking it apart. And then there's the issue of finding time...still have the console delete and the 997 shifter cluttering the work bench...I need a vacation...
