It has been a while since I have been on here however I will be here more often soon. I am about to purchase an 04' GT3 and I have attached the PPI from the Porsche dealer. My question is how to read it. I have an arrow pointing to the area in question.
Any help or guidance will be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Dennis

Range 1 ignitions are events where the rev-ving of the engine has been halted by the electronic limiter put in place at 8200 RPM. Not uncommon to see 3627 like this example has recorded.
Furthermore the last Range 1 hit was at 162 hour count and the engine has a total of 174 hours of use at that record point.
Zero Range 2 hits is nice. Range 2 is when the RPM exceed the electronic limiter noted in Range 1.
The search feature would happily explain all of this in detail.

That depends on how the car was operated and maintained. The "no track' note is just that. It does not indicate how the car was operated on the street, in other words you can abuse the car in many ways in street use or in not operating it to 'maintain it' from time to time. The mileage value by itself is not an issue.
The key is getting a read on the owner(s), your perception of how they cared for the GT3, and documentation.

You are reading into this "way too much", since the type II rev's are the real concern and this car has ZERO!
Your Porsche dealer (for the PPI) should make you feel all warm and fuzzy about any purchase, that or spell out any potential problems.
Just a thought.........................

The rev is just one part. OK it have never had a mechanical overrev. If you had a good PPI and the body and other systems check out it is a good car. The type 1 is a totally non-issue

a 5000 miles car...
all you really care is if it has been in accidednt, paint work?
then since it has zero type 2 over rev, i wouldn't worry.
make sure no engine/coolant leaks.
that's about it.

have the dealer remove the wheel well liners and have a body guy you trust take a look. For me, the only thing is that it has been repaired correctly. If so it would impact the price but not chase me away.
