At 235 and 315 car would push alot. I can see why at exit of 2 u spin- car just kept going on a wider arc(running out of asphalt)and bam u lift- been there done that. U need a bigger front - don't they have a 245 size nitto?mike

I bedded them in beforehand, good old great highway round trip- 6 stops (well almost stops) each way from 50 then 80

Fluid is stock

It really does not push at all, and a slight change in tire size seems unlikely to change that. Do you guys think a tire that is .23 inches wider or 2% of total width (245 vs 235 per nitto spec) is really going to make the car push?

The reason I spun in 2 was that I was flooring it further and further back before the apex cone, thought I wasn't going to make it one time when driving out over 90MPH and then like the porsche noob I am lifted rather than seeing it through- Bam, instant spin when the rear let go and I went off backwards on the inside

If it was pushing I never would have gotten that kind of exit speed and it would push everywhere, especially over the hill and in the 11-12-13 S which it does not even when I dump it in too hot off the gas

you be very surprised how sensitive GT3 is, unlike most bmw's, for example.
most run 245/315 and it would have a slight push.
235/315 should really push if you are anywhere around 2:05/lap.

T11-12-13, the esses, is not a place where you would experience a push in just about any car.

Hi, maybe try SRF. It's expensive but i've never had soft brakes ruin a track day.

Yes that's a good idea thanks

I pretty much have to bleed them out now so a full race fluid seems good- once the rain stops...

How often do you find you have to change it?

Backmarker, Glad to see you knew what you did in turn 2. I was right behind you. I could tell by the apex you were not going to make the exit

Thanks Tony, so I was right that I was going to run off

But I bet driving off would have been better than that spin I induced by lifting.

My buddy in the car thought that I had it, I did not since the Nittos don't stick like the Hoosiers and I was flying

What do you have in that Miata? Amazing to watch your speed out there

IMHO: You had good entry speed into 2, you picked up too much throttle to early. This caused the car to understeer, but you kept your foot in it and the same steering lock. At that point you were heading towards the track exit berm. You lifted off the throttle and it snapped on you once the wieght balance moved forward. In the future if you find yourself heading off torwards the outside in your car, a slight lift and a small steering correction would have been all that was needed in that case.

The miata has a stock '99 motor and makes 137whp and is 2150lbs with me in it. Suspension is stock except for springs and shocks. I was running goodyear EP slicks. Looking at the data I still had about another 1.5 seconds left in the car.

On what tc's observation at t2 that's how I visualized what happened. Take it with a grain a salt- We don't want u to crash your car. Consider yourself lucky that it was thill and not LS like t9 after the corkscrew u be crying. You can say fk what we say or u can learn from people who have way more experience. If former don't be the ahole thay caused a 4 car crash in the near future. Mike

You have an interesting attitude that I find typical on internet forums. A few weeks back you called me clueless, and told me what my lap times were based on some magical insight. Now you question my experience at the track. Do you find it hard to make friends?

I'll put you back on the ole ignore list where you belong since the only points I ever see you making are:

1 you know better
2 others are clueless
3 you can help enlighten us if only we would listen

BTW, I have been on track since 92, how about you? Did you even have a driver's license or own a car then?

I started in old school rotarys, moved through successive M3s and recently decided to try Porsche's. Yes I'm new to the car but not the track and certainly not new to filtering out personalities like yours on forums.

Oh wait don't bother responding since I won't see your reply
