Burning Brakes
Anybody have room to take up a set of track rims?
I'm still trying to milk the life out of the hoosiers that came with the car before I get a set of r comps

Let's just say before the rains came in that day in the afternoon it was a great time. Props to NCRC for accomadating us racer's in the event of rain and adjusting the schedule- NCRC is a top notch group( thanks Dave and Luc). The usual suspects were there Dave "Dive Bomber" aka 171mph(of coarse I did not see that because he was way in front of me, Mooty in his BSR and Tony of TC Design in his way beyond spec Miata(damn he's doing 2:04 in qualifying I'm 2:03:85-kinda nervous seeing him lined up next to me). The highlight of this event is driving Mooty's BSR- I have to say it's one of the funnest rides I've ever been in and now know why Mooty like's the Bsr. It's a dedicated racecar that still is street legal( how he drives to the track I'm not there yet- Mooty's dedication to the the track is beyond hardcore- good going Mooty). The BSR is a revelation. I never driven a mid-engine car but after sampling Mooty's BSR( built and prepped by Tony of TC Design- highly recommended in my book) the car is so well balanced. Having driven my 996gt3 for a few years I'm really use to the weight shift from rear to back and vice versa but with BSR being mid-engine the weight shift is very subtle so took me 3 laps to adjust to it but almighty car negotiates turns with aplomb and it's smooth as butter doing that unlike the GT3 every time I'm at the track I feel I'm manhandling it to make it turn(drive a Bsr u know what I mean)- and gotta say the gear ratios on the Bsr is matched perfect with respect to hp- it never felt delayed/abrubt going thru shifts whereas my GT3 whether stock or 4.0 R/P at thill never felt right. Powerwise yeah it needs more power but I was grinning ear to ear going thru turns. Thanks Mooty letting me drive your BSR- Great chassis/ lightweight and silky smooth and got the interior race car noises that I like : ). Hope BSR grows in Norcal- I be getting one myself. MIke

^ glad you had fun. u only hit dirt once and you thought it's fun? way 'til you get it sideways ;-) btw, you torn off my FR brake duct, good thing you brought those extra ducts!!!, my are about 1.5" off the pavement with current ride ht.
now you know why my RS are sold and GT3 is just collecting dust right now. i am waiting for other's to work things out so i can get 3.8L X51 boxster. i promise i will take your rear bumper off with my tow hook LOL.
btw, when you drove it, it had LS exhaust on. you should try it again with it's normal exhaust. you would think it's a cup car.

Burning Brakes
I had a crappy day
Spent the first session dialing in new tires, too much air and they were like driving on ice. But hey I got 315 rear and 235 front nittos on no rubbing
Then the brakes boiled due to vendor mis-information on how to install new front rotors
So I drove slow on the straits, only to spin hard exiting 2, my bad LTO
I was glad for the rain and to head home

235 and 315? you will push a lot.
if you want the correct airpressure, stop dialing it in. just ask 171 mph. he had nitto and did 1:59 lap after lap. there is no need to dial in GT3's we have a LOT OF DATA on this board.
how did you boil the brakes? what rotors were you on?

If brand spanking new rotors and haven't been bedded in properly hopefully u did not glaze the rotors- if so either new rotors or turning the rotor with a lathe. What brake fluid u were using?
