CELs only come on in very specific driving conditions. I wouldn't assume you are in the clear just because it hasn't come up yet.

The cup cars run with cats and, most important, the oxygen sensors. The ECU needs to have the O2 feedback to keep the mixture right, and, keep emissions low. I'd put them back on.

Mike, I just went through this. My car was registered in NY (i have a residence in NYC) until i got stopped in CA one to many times. i was able to pass all the smog tests except the idle CO values. I called My buddies at RSS (USA distributer) and they have put the system on many cars and had no problems with smog. They called Cargraphic in Germany and they were told that maybe the cats were damaged and needed to be replaced. I was out of warranty so i never bothered. I found a place that was able to get me to pass if you know what I mean.

I have the CG "R" system 410 kit. I did not want to send my ECU to RS tuning because my engine is still under warranty till next year and i didn't want to have no ECU for a while either. I'm going to have GIAC or Revo do a custom program with a flash loader so i can flash back to stock and 100 octane.

If I was in Europe I would have had RS do it.

I have been in contact with FVD since... and I need to send them pics etc.. as they do not think it is thiers (the box has FVD tape on it) etc... so I may still use it if I can work out a reflash etc...

If I cannot use it... I will put it up for sale... you get first right of refusal
Yea, i talked to Grey about it but passed due to concern about the lock codes. If you have it figured out I'm willing to give it a go. I should get another 10whp out of it.

I had my dealer swtich the lock codes to work with my car... a competent dealer tech can do this pretty quickly...
I will PM you my contact info to discuss.

How much of the cost is the remap out of the kit price? I quite like the idea of that extra bhp without the messing with the ECU part.

Find this whole mapping/exhaust topic a minefield as everyone makes contradictory claims about what is possible with each part!

I honestly don't remember. 750? The revo i am going to do is like 1200 with the flash loader. GIAC charges 900 without.

Hope that gives you a ballpark

yes, if they do it correctly they plug it into the OBD port and tune the car. They should drive it and hit WOT and tune the air fuel ratio.

you're in norcal? TRG?

hmm, yours didn't pass smog? I have the Europipe system, with 200 cell cats & a BMC filter. I haven't had to have it smogged yet, hopefully it won't be a problem.

200 cells are not a problem. I ran them for years. M 100 cells only lasted 4 months

How much power do you guys expect to see from just a remap? I tend to assume most tuners are lying so find it hard to buy into the numbers that get tossed around. i.e people get a remap and magically they have more power from that alone than the cargraphic or manthey k410 kits which have manifold+exhausts and cost 12k USD. If you can get that with the 1k USD remap, are cargraphic and manthey just selling exhausts+headers because they can?

No you're thinking about it incorrectly. The software claims to bring the HP up to say 400 from 380 and it might at the peak. I've heard claims from 9-18 bhp at the crank. The headers and exhaust gives the car far more torque throughout the RPM band.
