Great question Gordon

s-car go headers and FVD flash would have been too easy and I like a project.

Otherwise:

I like and trust Charles (ASP) and I felt the risk/reward was worth it... even if it was a "gamble" so to speak
He is giving me a break on the pricing as I was willing to be the first
His other examples -- for other cars -- exuded top notch build quality
Unlimited dynos and the willingness to work to get it right even if it means doing it over
He is local and I like local
His track record with me -- he has never steered me wrong or taken advantage of me.

In a nut shell - relationship and trust.

I went into this knowing it was a risk...

Prelim dyno done, I am up 20 HP and 10 lb/ft without software

Design objective -- more of everything of course
it will be extensively dyno'd and I will update this thread accordingly.
Cost -- I have a budget and Charles is aware of it... once it is completed, if it does what it is supposed to do and I have proof via dyno sheets and sound clips etc, then Charles and Stefan will be marketing the system. I am getting a bit of a break as I am the guinea pig. If they go through with their plans they will market a 304 stainless version and a 321 stainless version... the one in the pictures is 321 stainless.
Wow. that looks pretty slick. I envy your budget. My exhaust budget was at least an order of magnitude lower. My solution was used muffler bypass pipes.
Cost = $200.
Loud = yes. Obnoxious = yes. Me like = yes.
Difficulty/stress level: heck, even whacked out on half a bottle of vodka and half a dozen Quaaludes, it would take a little over an hour to pull the OEM mufflers and put on the bypass pipes.

Looks very nice. I wish i could play like that. Me, i am farting around with stupid screens....

In any case, hope that you enjoy.

thanks!
I got to hear a couple dyno pulls over the phone tonight... sounds as good as a "phone dyno" can I guess.

Tech reports pretty reserved at cruising speed but gets meaner sounding as you get on it.

Sound is a nice byproduct... was not the goal... but I will take it.

weight reduction and increased torque and hp through out the entire range.

Turns out the flashed (RS Tuning) ecu that I got second hand is not going to work out for me. So I have a few other ideas for software that I have to look into when all is squared away with the install etc.

I am reading between the lines mike...hater :-)

Not to bad actually - thanks for asking
I am a prudent shopper
The same exhaust could be built to work with standard bumper
I got a great deal on the bumper so I decided to add some cost by going center exit as it is my preference

Slightly more than I told my wife and less than I expected

That is one bad-*** system! I've been saving for a Manthey, but if you can get 410 (at the motor) with a flash...I'm sold.

Looks awesome (love the center exhaust), but pricey.

No problem -- I will be updating the thread as needed (good or bad)...

Black Fikse Profil 13s/Gold BBS E88, KWv3 coilovers, TRG susp. bits (toe links, control arms, monoballs, etc), Schroth 6pts, Recaro Profil SPG Xl seats, Speedware custom roll bar, Manthey CF wing and mirror housings, 4.0 Porsche Motorsports Ring and Pinion, lightweight flywheel, cup cables, and soon to be installed brembo rotors....

I snatched this car as soon as I found out my wife was pregnant with our first (now 17 months old)... she was working, I was working -- I made my case and got it. Now she is not working and #2 is in the oven... a new car request (in lieu of more money mods) would be laughed at today... so incremental improvements is what this married guy with soon to be two kids is what I can get by the goalie...

Once the exhaust/headers deal is all sorted out... I am done.

done... the numbers posted are to the wheels...
The manthey stuff is nice though... and as Gordon pointed out, it is proven etc.

Ya, I was actually hoping some day it would end up like yours (perfectly done imo-all that you need, nothing you dont), but I think with my buddy hopefully opening his race shop soon i'll have plenty of other opportunities to drive fun stuff.

All the best with the new endeavor! Looking forward to hearing it!
