Default Emission related problems, warranty?

The factory warranty has run out on my car and I was wondering if emission related problems are still covered by a smaller sub-set of the warranty. Are the emission related parts covered for a longer period of time? For some reason I believe this to be the case. I would read the owners manual, but I don't have access to it because the car is at the dealer right now.

I have an extended warranty, but it's not by Porsche. I'd rather not pay the deductible and go through the hassle if I don't have to.

Can someone help me out?

I believe the emissions equipment is 8 year / 80K federally mandated. I could be wrong though.

The manual for "Warranty and Customer Information" says on page 15:
"8 years or 80,000 miles for the catalytic converter, the Emission Control Unit, and the On-Board Diagnostic System"

Warning: there are all sorts of disclaimers re maintenance, parts, usage, etc.

Don't know yet. The dealer is still diagnosing the problem.

I didn't think Richmond had emissions regulations. So, what's the problem?

I had a bad cat found by Fred Baker Porsche in Cleveland when they were doing some other work, and it was replaced free by Porsche. The car has 30k miles, and is covered by an extended warranty also. The extended warranty was covering the other work, except for the "while you are in there" stuff, like a 997 shifter ( much more precise, as has been mentioned here), LSD motorsport clutch pack, RMS newer design ( $100 part no labor), solid bushings, dogbones, etc.
Can't wait for the season to start.

.... my favorite is excessive track use. One guy had a broken ignition key switch and they called it a wear item ??
They have to warranty the emission system, it's the law
