anyone have any suggestions/advice/experience on tire pressure for the R888's on a 04 GT3? The BMW guys seem to like them high (40's), somewhat higher then i would have expected. Others are saying low to mid 30's. No real consensus on the various forums so i thought i would ask GT3 owners specifically. I've tried them in the low to mid 40's and i can't say they are confidence inspiring but i'm guessing this is a driver malfunction. thought i better ask for assistance before i hurt someone (me) or something (car)..........
thanks in advance for your advice!

I have bought R888 from some months, mainly because are less expensive than pirelli pzero corsa
I have tried both in the same day and same track. The only problem I didn't solve during these tests is the setup because the two tyres have different mesures and require to adjust the high
both have a very good performance but different behaviour, R888 is more direct in the intial phase , pirelli seems to be more soft and precise, a little bit better pirelli pzero for performance
not the same for lasting, pirelli last less (after 6 hours hard track you have to throw away) than toyo (I don't have a final statistic for these)
bye

DanH and VA122, i assume these are hot temps. thanks for the suggestions. MPSC's don't work all that well in the cold temps (40's and 50's) that we have here in the morning so i stayed away from them. i miss my Hoosiers but i'll get the better part of a full season out of these.

i can do same lap time, within 3/10 of a seconds using any pressure from 34-44psi hot, yes, strange i know....
but there 's no pattern as to if i am fastest with low or high pressure.
i like my car to push, some told me my car push so much that they can't drive it. but i have no prob with it. with that in mind, at 44, the car is "livelier" at the rear but easily controlled (remember i prefer a understeering car, so if i can control the greasing 44psi r888, it can't be that slippery).
the only pattern i noticed is if i run low pressure, i get wear in the center of the tire contact patch. if i run high pressure, the wear is even across the tread.
these obseravtions is consistent on my BSR as well.
for ref, my gt3 are about 3200lbs while the BSR is 2500
no driver and very little fuel.
as you can see, that's data on one driver, three cars, very different wt and different engine placement, varied temp NO pattern i can see other than what i noted above..
oh, the fronts wear out faster on BSR 2.5:1 ratio
while the rears wear out faster on GT3's but not buy much, certainly not 2:1

on RA 1 i dont lose grip until cording.
on R999, when i get to about 2/32 tread depth, the grip is gone, any less tread than that, the tires is on ice.

They don't like camber in the sense that the rear weight of a 911 destroys the shoulders and the tyres fall apart whilst the rest of the tread looks ok - dangerous + surprising. As to lasting 10-12 trackdays, that's more than twice as long as rears last if on the pace.
They are an ok tyre when learning, but once you get quicker the limitations become very obvious.

and on my BSR, the front looks like full slicks after 2.5 days.
