Default New-to-me GT3

Well, I am now the proud owner of a 996 GT3. Even though this car is well-known on this forum, I thought I'd post up a couple of pics after giving it a quick wash this afternoon. My little helper likes it too, already asking when I will be giving it to her.

Have to thank Jerry for the opportunity to pick up a well set up ride and for being a great guy to deal with throughout the transaction. Looking forward to getting her on the track soon.

Day late and a dollar short for me...if you ever want to let her go, let me know.

Awesome. Congrats. Just joined the GT3 club myself last week and I am enjoying every day of it. Daily driving it to work and such. Sold a 360 that I never drove and now can't stop running errands in the GT3!!

Enjoy, enjoy.

IPguy- I saw your post on the original for sale thread. Sorry I beat you to it but I'm sure you'll find a nice one soon. I've told myself (and sold my wife on the idea) that this is all the track car I could ever want (well, short of a 962 I guess!) so I hope to be able to keep and enjoy this car for a long time to come. Since I started doing DE's I've loved watching/been envious of the guys blowing by me in their GT3s. That said, IF I ever were to sell it would be on Rennlist for sure.

I appreciate everybody's nice comments. I've only driven the car on a couple short rips. I love the sound, love the feel, fabulous brakes. I love the rawness of the car, reminds me of my older 911 and 930 (although I must say that there is a hugely noticeable difference in build quality between the old cars and the newer ones I have owned). I wish I could put it on the track this weekend. Only problem I have is that all I want to do is run it up to the redline in every gear so I can hear the motor sing! Somebody please tell me that this is actually GOOD for the car!

Anyway, fortunate and glad to now be a member of the "club", sorry Jerry had to let her go. Looking forward to learning more about the car and how to drive it well.

Yep, still have the 930 (don't ask me how I pulled that one off, suffice it to say that I have a very cool wife). After a short venture into track work she is being put back into street driving form. Probably going to sell the Ruf wheels, restore the Fuchs, upgrade the turbo, do headers and intercooler and have a very cool but stock appearing beast. I've bought and sold a bunch of cars in the past few years but, even after only a short period of ownership, the '89 930 is one car that I had a really hard time with the idea of having to sell. Of course, if my practice were to tank, it and everything else will be for sale.

Yeah, somebody from up there in NorCal needs to fill me in on the significance of Black Sheep Racing... please.

Default black sheep racing?

I'll have to defer to Mr. Potter on that subject.

Or Mr. Hua.

Or Mr. Karlooz.

That has and is one of my all time favorite 6GT3's on this board. Great color and set up nicely. By reving to red line often, helps to keep the carbon build up low, LOL. Enjoy it!

OMG, it was you that ended up with this AWESOME car.
Congrat's and have fun, these cars are the best, I just drove mine tonight and while I usually only track it, the looks and feelings I get are AWESOME.
You are now the SH#T and you will know it.
