Sounds like "good times" for 171 mph and 996FLT6. A tight knit group, I like it.

Colby, there is a stock 04 GT3 in L.Vegas for $61k, ref. that for any doubters.

Colby,

The car had 19,500 miles on delivery to me. It is in pristine condition-that's why I chose this particular one.

Backmarker, Don

You are so right. However, the cheapskate in me cannot always be suppressed. I love getting a deal, and hate thinking I could've/should've done better.

Thanks, seems like 63k for my car is market value.

I don't think your price is bad, buyers are just far and few between right now. I'd hold on to it if you can.

Colby,

Your car is set up pretty well. I'd stay at 62K if you can. Obviously, the fair market price is defined as ...yada, yada, yada.

Unless you need/want to sell real bad, hold on, go slow. The market is small but if someone is really jonesing for a GT3 in good shape, they will pay. I did.

If you want to sell it quick, you'll need to be at $57K I think, otherwise hold out.

I'm actually thinking about going back to stock and selling around 57-58.

Ya, unfortunately in the next month or two the weather will be getting ridiculously nice and I'm going to start tracking again... Would like to get her sold by then so I can pick up something less expensive to track. That being said I'd like her to go to a good home and I'm not really in a rush. An enthusiast here gave me a ridiculous deal and I'd like to do the same if possible. But if I can't get low 60's after everything is said and done I'm going to keep her and pray I dont lose anymore money. LOL

do you mean less expensive including purchase price of the car OR do you mean less expensive running costs?

Once they are set up for the track, as yours is, where do you expect to get big savings moving to another car?

I am not being a smart ***... just curious where you think you will pick up the savings moving to another car... I am assuming you are looking at an M3 or something like that...

Deman rotors
********* pagids
tires
oil
brake fluid

Am I crazy in thinking that the 996-3 actually has reasonable run costs for lapping days in return for the performance it provides?

start donating blood, plasma, and semen and keep that car Colby!

Something like an M3 will run you very close to the same costs. You will save a few$$ on tires and brakes but not enough to switch. However if you want an over the top E46 M3 track car give a pm.

that was what I was thinking... once you buy the car and set it up to your liking... cost is in line with other cars in terms of running it at lapping days...

Colby - good luck with the sale!
I would part it out in terms of your mods etc..

Exactly. I have tracked other cars and the running cost are similar to a GT3. In fact I think that once you outlay the money for the GT3, it is actually a pretty inexpensive car to set up for track use (which you already have done.)

Like I said before, unless you absolutely have to get the cash back out of your car, don't sell it. By the time you take a hit on this car, buy another car, and set the new car up, you won't likely have saved much money. Plus the new car won't be as much fun as the GT3.
