I have the 80/80 guard LSD and to my surprise it's very civil on the streets. Wished the chassis itself is more compliant in the street(San francisco roads suck). But in the rain be careful. Mike

Cup R&P (8/32): 0.3 secs per 60 secs of track time. A lot from an autoX/Time Trials perspective, even more for Sprint races, and too much for an Enduro.

OMG! That's like .75 sec at buttonwillow! I'm all over it. Thanks Rad, you know everything.

Oh, remind me the correct sizes for the slicks? I'm mounting them on the Mg's

regearing is the "better" way to go and I inquired about it with Rothsport in Portland and was told off the cuff $10-12K... no thanks...

I bought a slightly used ring and pinion that was rem polished (before I knew about the old ones being a problem) and have had three track days and maybe 400 street miles since installation... no problems and very glad I did it.

I am finding that I am in the "meat" of the powerband all the time... I would do it again... even with the old one.

I asked my tech about the old vs. new and he said that he is realtively sure that the failures are in cup cars that are getting hammered on... and that a few (17 last year) de days should not pose a problem... easy for him to say.

I did the whole thing for $3K and I am happy...
Did you have your car done at Chris's?

Hi Mike, wow that's a lot. i still have stock lsd (i've put on about 9k miles since last april and about 2.5-3k of those are on track). car has 24k total but wasn't tracked before.

so my question is how long before i can replace this and about how much will it cost? thanks!

Hey 171mph- Happy New Year!!!!! Well if your lsd still good I would wait til it fries but then again it will rear it's ugly head with an unstable rear end late braking(scary) and lack of power out/rotate turns. U got mad "wish I had your driving skills" so u don't need no lsd in your car : ). Ballpark figure I believe was in the $3300 range not including install for the 80/80 Guard lsd unit. Give Paul Guard a call and decide which lsd is for u(50/80 or 80/80). Also if u want to test your current lsd just lift one rear wheel and see if it turns freely- that's a sign of a fried lsd. Mike
