Yes but....Halon can't be imported to Canada; what a PITA! We had two Porsches go off the track in Calgary last year and set grass fires so another good reason to carry one apart from in-car fires.

What about halotron?

You don't want to use bicarbonate as it will destroy your electrical system. (so will a fire so pick your poison)

Even if you have a full safequip system in your race car, please carry a handheld bottle as well. If you wipe out with your brakes at temp they may catch fire from lack of cooling. You are not supposed to get out of the car in case of spinal injuries but the corner workers can grap your bottle and get to work on the fire, whereas the plumbed system may not necessarily get to those hard to reach places.

Hopefully we never have to use fire bottle but be a good thing to practice removing bottle with harness/helmet(as if on track). Gota911- thanks I'll give that a try : ). Mike

No problem to get it out. Had to do it on the street once for a flipped SUV on 19th Ave.

Default extinguisher

I love the Brey Krause. Besides being functional, every Brey Krause peice made is artwork. Your 4th grader could do the minor install... okay maybe 5th.

I use the BK mount and it does rattle. Now I don't care. I never thought I'd use the fire extinguisher in my 6GT3 at a DE day. Please refer to post #12. I was the first car to stop after Larry had emptied his bottle. I can't tell you how quickly I stopped the car, release my belts, grabbed the BK release and the next thing I know I was putting out Larry's fuel fire. I'm really glad to have helped a friend and I'm one of the small group who have had to use his extinguisher at the track. I do have to get it refilled this winter but I'll think about that day every time I check to see if the extinguisher is solidly mounted in its Brey- Krause mount.
