Pedal height comparisons
Are the pedal heights and spacing the same for all Porsche- 911, 996,997. If I had a proper set up with third foot from earlier 911 will it transfer directly to 996 GT3- It took me years to get it perfect- Will I need to start all over if I want to use this piece from WINGS engineering ?. Is each car a bit different and each generation different or does Porsche have a formula for pedal distances that are consistent for all models?

wings engineering, that was a while ago. Yes it should work fine.
regarding pedal heights the 996's they are adjustable. There is a lock nut adjustment behind the brake booster rod boot. loosen and spin to desired height. Remember to check the brake light switch still works at the new height. The gas pedal can be shimmed on the right side to bring it closer to the gas pedal.

I just took it off my 930 & installed on new GT3 and said- Wow- I wonder if this is going to work. !! I won't really know for a few months until track time comes but I was wondering if there were any Porsche universals with pedals? Overall ratio may be lower/ closer on 996 GT3 but I don't know if original owner changed anything with pedals. No need to shim with WINGS piece- I use to love it on 930 and hope it is applicable and increases my smoothness in new GT3. It fit perfectly- what a thrill.

you don't need to wait. push the brake all the way down and it ideally should be at the same level as the gas. if it's not, then see my earlier post. I use ultimate pedals
If you want a pedal assembly with adjustable everything check rennline. I've used it and it's fantastic.

IMO the 996 GT3 is very different from 911's. The brake and clutch come from the floor on 911's which seems to give you a different relationship with the gas pedal. I had to make a lot of adjustments to the gas and brake pedals on my 964 to get it to heel toe the way I wanted.
The GT3 is perfect out of the box for me.

You ain't kidding! I am really having to work hard to get a good heel/toe combo where in the GT3 is a piece of cake. I am getting new adjustable pedals in the coming weeks.

I really liked the Wings gas pedal on my 911 and 993. Wish I had taken them with me. I think Wings is no longer in business.
Didn't know the GT3 could be adjusted. Mine are not quite right, and I shimmed the gas pedal to make it better. VA122, thanks for the tip

I had to lower the brake pedal and raise the gas pedal to even get them close. What a PITA!! I thought I was just a terrible driver. One day at the office Carefree let me take take his GT3 around the block. I felt like Walter Freaking Rohrl!

Oh well, looks like I won't be getting the pedals for a bit. I thought their December sale was for the month of December when it was only the 1st-25th. Argh! I called them but they said I was too late to take advantage of the sale pricing. Guess I'll wait for the next one.
