There ya go. Matt is speaking from experience to confrim.
Just as I said, the 996GT2 has no script on the gauge like the GT3 has. Never understood it but that's the way they do it. Maybe that's why they added it to the 997?

That is a $75,000 car due to being a Euro import, not a USA car, the current economy and with 20K miles it is a driver.
Early Euro cars did come with steel brakes as the ceramics were not available until mid year 2001. The yellow calipers are the same calipers as what came on the 2002 996 cup car, the only year the Cup car had yellow calipers. I put the steel brakes (from a 2002 cup car) on my 2003 GT2 for the track, put the ceramics in a box and put them back on when I sold the car.
The brakes are fine but this car has high milage and lapis is nice color, but not the best for re-sale. Being a Euro car is not a great deal either as it is imported as a grey market car (many came in under Gemballa in 2000 and 2001) before the first 2002 USA cars arrived.
There is a black 2003 car located in Costa Mesa with 1,900 miles asking $114K. The got it from True Speed who had it for a long time and sold it at a loss to move it. My guess is you can buy that car for $105K. It is an unmolested US car with ceramic brakes and some nice options, a much better buy. Their are a number of other cars around that are not tracked and very nice. Buy the nicest one you can afford and take your time shopping, as the market is in your favor.
Good luck finding the right car.

I will actually be in Newport this weekend. I would like to take a look at the GT2 you mention. Where is it at in Costa Mesa?
I'm also going to check out the Gretsky-mobile.

Thanks for the advice. I completely understand your point regarding the gray market aspect of this deal.

Newport really is nuts. I saw 2 F430's, 3 599's, a white 997 GT2, and a GT-R, all within a 5 minute span.
