What about the Porsche part (sub-bar) that is made for attaching the sub-belt to the seat mounting bolts? Do you have any pictures, articles or tests that show that piece is inadequate? If so, I'd really like to see them. On my past cars, I have always drilled the holes, but on this one, I've used the Porsche and Brey Krauss parts. Thanks

For the sub belts, you can get the sub belt bars like the picture posted. You bolt them between the sliders and side mounts (see other picture for location). As for the lap belts, you need the big square spacers and those are mounted to seat side mount. Besides the shoulder belts, all other belts are attached to seat and none to chassis.

My 2 cents on installing the seats.

I have the same setup, BUT I did not thread the OEM seat belts into the shoulder hole.

The main reason for this is when you are using the harness... you can just then easily buckle the seat belt behind the seat to turn off the dong dong dong thing. If the OEM seat belts are threaded through the holes it means you need to buckle the OEM belts across your lap.

Just an observation

Martin,
I would not run a street belt that way, its not safe IMHO
CWay27
That is a great Idea,
or just buckle it up, then sit down, that's the way I did it at the track

I use a TQ substrap mount plus a dummy seat belt buckle as CWay27 shows as well. Stock 3-point shoulder belt is routed through the harness opening...no need to route it around the seat which seems unsafe to me.

I just pull my OEM belt around "behind" the seat and insert it into the buckle. I also noticed that the dinging sound goes off after about 5 minutes.

I installed GT3 seats in my Cayman using the Porsche seat mount and Porsche sub-truss. The fit was fantastic. Here's a shot of the sub truss assembled and ready to be installed.

Thanks for the picture. I was looking for that.

I've fire extinguisher mounted below the front brackets on the passenger seat and wondering how it would work if Porsche sub mount goes also on the same bolts. I've seen different kind of side mounts and some goes on top of rear bolts of the seats.

Anyone here has a picture of fire extinguisher mount below the passenger seat and Porsche sub mount, both in place? Thanks.

Without seeing what bracket you're currently running it's hard to say.

When you want to put the extinguisher on the seat and also use a sub strap bar, the Brey-Krause items BKR9030 and BKR2030 make it really easy. With the BK stuff, no need for the Tequipment sub bar.
