Cup Shift Cable Install
#2
Recently did both the shifter and the cables, speaking of which, I believe that is the only way it can be done. The cable ends at the shifter attach differently than the stock set.
I did not have a lift so it was a little combersome to get the rubber bushing to slide back in. Then we applied some WD-40 to it and life was all good!
When you pull out the console, look for small torx screw that are hidden in the rear compartment.
The white plastic piece on the shifter is an alignment tool, not a holder for shipping purposes!
When you slide your old cables out, attach some heavy string to fish your new cables back through.
It would of been helpful if there was a DIY, however there is not.
I like the Cup set up, very crisp.

jmla, that is a good question.
What I do know is the Cup cables will not work with a stock GT3 shifter, (I don't have a B&M shifter to compare it to). Someone on the boards will be able to help that has a B&M.
The cup cables screw onto the shifter ends and a stock shifter has plastic clip on ends.
Does your B&M shifter have clips or screw on ends?

I have read that too, however I have not experienced that at all. The only way I can see them being noisier is by not installing the rubber (bushing/boot) properly, where it was not sealed and would allow air and noise. WD-40 is the big key to having the 3rd hose slide into place, you will see what I mean.
I wish I would of taken some photo's. Send Dell a PM, I am sure he can help.

jmla, from what I can see from my old parts and now knowing it is possible from PJ, see what parts are needed to change the shifter ends from spring loaded clips to metal threaded ends?
Someone on Rennlist has done this before.

Well if the Cup cables work with the stock shifter, than they should work with my B&M...cool! I contemplated doing the EVO shift links, but I think I'd rather have the Cup parts. Thanks guys.
