installing/removing Milltek exhaust?
Do you need to remove the rear bumper to remove the exhaust?
I actually do not need to remove the whole exhaust, just the cat so I can make a repair (Weld broke) but after getting the car on stands, It looks like an awful tight fit. Not sure it will come out w/out removing the bumper. So anyone who has experience let me know please...
Thanks,

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that the cats were under the bumper, and the silencers/mufflers were in the wheelwells.
I need to remove whatever it is under the bumper...

Damn! I think I posted before my second cup of coffee I read the first question and immediately thought exhaust (cans).
I didn't realize you were going to R&R headers and/or cats. Probably need to remove the rear bumper to do the full setup. Very east to remove though, just time consuming.

Hmmm well I've never done it to this car...does anyone have any pics or diagrams showing where the bolts are located. When you say time consuming How much time just to remove the bumper? And is there anything I'll need to replace? gaskets or seals ?

I know user Orient Express on the 996 sub-forum has pictures (not sure about full explanation) showing it since his car is a full concours detail job all the time and he removes parts to clean.

the bumper is very east to remove. There is a DIY(GT3 - Rocketman) that is great help. It will take less time just to remove the bumper than doing it with it in place.

Update.....
Well I finally got back in from offshore, and had a chance to start working on the car yesterday. I used "Rockitmans" DIY instructions and was able to remove the rear bumper cover in about :20 min. I was amazed how easy it actually was. I removed the section of broken exhaust and rewelded and reinstalled it.
The longest part of the job was that I forgot to reinstall the O2 sensors and had to R&R the section of exhaust pipe again. Anyhow just wanted to say thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction!
