I am considering buying a 2003 GT2 and was interested in the production numbers for each year. Can anyone provide a source for me to research or does anyone know the numbers for each year 2001- 2005?

Also, curious about price...Blk/Blk, Yellow belts, 1800 miles, perfect finish, all books, keys, window sticker? thanks

2004 - 24
2005 - 5

These are US sales numbers. 2001 model was not brought into the US. 2002 and 2003 trade for almost the same money. 2004 a little bit more and 2005 has very little sales record because of rarity.

Try to get the April 2007 issue of Total 911 - 'Porsche GT2 - Now's the time to buy the wildest 996 of all'. If you can't source one, PM me and I'll send you a photocopy of the article. Total global production was 1,061 units. Some say about 20% of these cars were totaled. The car being offered to you seems very fresh. Since prices have bottomed out and that it's mileage is so low, I would guess $110k to $120k would be ok. It's a great car to have. It's always a visceral experience every time you 'juice it'. Having said that it all depends on what your after - if it's for pure track then maybe a GT3 would suit you better. But if it's for street and a few track days - this is the baby! A few suspension mod's will sort out the 'twitchy' feeling in the rear end.

Thanks SilverBoy....this will be a street/concours car for me. Thanks for the comments you gave and you were right-on with the pricing. I do not have a source for the article...is it something I can get on the internet?

Just checked the internet...found Total 911 and the article you mentioned. Can't download it, only by purchasing back issue. Maybe you can fax it to me?

I believe Total 911 is now digital. Try to get a back issue of GT Porsche. They also had the same verdict - now's the best time to buy the 6GT2. It'll be perfect for your use. In 10 to 20 years time, I think most people will regret not having bought one such as yours being the last of the cars with no traction controls/PASM...etc.

I've been lurking around the gt2 wading pool for a few years now and will eventually buy one for mixed use- I think they're incredible cars!

OK... I have always wonder how some one would do this.. can you expand on the mods necessay to sort this 'twitchy' feeling out.

adjustable shocks, such as motons

proper alignment settings, not the understeering until snapping oversteer factory setup

possibly some solid bushings...

these can and will sort out the gt2.

EXACTLY MY SETUP plus some more goodies

One thing I hate is how people decide on buying it for the street or more of a daily driver, and recommend GT3 for more track work, WHY? Makes no sense, GT2 in every sense is just as much of a track car as the GT3!
