My best was 2:01.5 with the cyclone, and I'm sure a better driver could go much faster. Mine has the NA Honda 245hp engine, non supercharged. So I assume the 300hp version would also be faster.

For those who would like to drive an Atom, there is www.arielatomexperience.com . I have not attended, but have heard good things. The Chief Instructor is Keith MacIntosh who has instructed me many times in my 996...he's fun and good.

balanced package? I doubt it! Every review of the car has said it has rather a lot more acceleration than handling. Fun and challenging yes, balanced er

If you're looking for something similar with good balance, you might want to investigate the Caterham CSR260 as well (although the Atom looks like a blast too).

I agree with the others, although its fast, the Atom can be a handfull. Even my lowly 245hp Atom is a beast, especially at low speeds and on cold tires, like anytime on the street.

As I said before, because there aren't many Atoms, and they haven't been raced or dialed in yet, we've yet to see their true potential. I expect that over the next few years you'll see big improvements.

Speaking of new/improved Atoms, I assume you've all seen this one:
