Cool Best wheels for the '04 GT3

I have a "new" '04 GT3 with original wheels. First, how heavy are these wheels? I would like to replace them with a set of HREs. What size could I get away with? The clearances look pretty tight. Thanks in advance.

Your garage pic looks a lot like Mootys. Just the colors are mixed up.

There are a lots of good track wheels for the 996 GT3 - CCW. Fikse, & BBS to name a few... The factory GT3 wheels are heavy, though I can't remember how heavy off-hand...

I think dertub has more of an appropriate "Easter Theme" in his garage, and Mooty is going for the "Halloween Theme"... It's all that simple, really...

Nice collection dertub. Enjoy it!

Cool

Thanks! Yeah, Mooty and I should live next to one another. The colors would look great together.

CCW C10's are another option that are a bit lighter than the C14. I already have a set of C14s and a set of C10s are on a truck somewhere in TN right now. I'll get them next Thursday!

Cheers,

Can't go wrong with a set of LMs or e88s from BBS...

Both are light, and notoriously strong. IMO, BBS is definitely a forerunner in the wheel industry.

LM (unless the manthey version) is quite heavy.
E88, yes, one of the very best and $$$

Allen,

What sizes are your C14's and what did you order for the C10's? I just ordered C10's in 9"/11.5". On the 11.5's, I asked for an increase in the offset by 6 mm to help minimize rubbing on the fender with 315's. (I know of at least one example of 315's rubbing on 12's with the standard offset, and that is with additional rolling of the rear fenders). I'd be very interested to hear your experience.

Thanks,

My C14's are 9"/11" with offsets to maintain factory equivalent spacing. The C10's (here tomorrow!!!) are the same. People put 315s on 11" wheels so I went with that.

[edit: forgot to mention the only rubbing I get is up front at parking lot speeds turning very sharply. Same with the stock wheels/tires too.]

Cheers,
