8K seems high for just the RS Wing. I called several places within the last 2 weeks such as TRG, Sunset Porsche, Farnbacher Loles and FVD and most of the prices where between $4,000 and $4,500 and one was less than $4,000. I should be receiving my RS Wing in a week and I paid less than $4K.

Sounds like I will need a strong lock for my RS Wing

Just checked the Carnewal website and he has the original RS wing listed for Euro 2,195 which converts to $3,256 includes shipping today.

The new $8K price was in effect as of 2/1 according to PCNA. The $4404 price is the list that has been in place for the past months.

Here are a couple of new prices:

RS Package (Steering Wheel, Shifter & Handbrake in Alcantara): Euro $1,795 (@ $2,500 up from Euro 850 (@ $1,200).

GT2 Rear wing: Euro 20,000 (@ $28,000)

997 GT3 Seats: Euro 7,500 each (@ $21,000 for the pair).

Worth more than the average new car..."ouch" is right! (And the exchange rate is actually worse than you posted, ie $ price is higher.)

!!!!!! For the 6GT3 cf blade, today's Carnewal prices are Euro 4995 ($7236) for the OE piece, Euro 1895 ($2745) for a replica. D..m, I may have to buy back my trailer to secure my wing!!!

At first I thought this was kind of "cool", something on my Porsche has appreciated. Now, I think this is insane.

Today, 9 Feb 2008, I called the Porsche dealership that I bought my 996 RS Wing from and gave them the part number to check the current price.

$ 8,058 for the 996 RS wing assembly, includes a small discount from retail list price (retail list price January 2006 was $2472)

$ 1,088 for each side plate (wanted to know in case I needed to replace one). I checked in May 2007 and the retail list price then was $392 each.

None of the information I listed here involves the engine deck lid, it is just the carbon fiber wing.

So if anyone wants a 996 RS CF wing for $3K, let me know (brand new, Porsche Factory Wing). I have one left that I got under the $4400 price. Looks like even those prices are gone forever.
