As a related side point regarding low coefficient surfaces, driving the Plain Jane 996 C2 in the snow with thinner tires (like a snow stage rally car, I install a square set up of 17” Boxster rims with 215 width winter tires all around) that bite into the snow and through to the tarmac providing lots of understandable grip and slip, it has become the best car in the snow I’ve ever driven by large margin!

Driving in the rain in these bad boys is exquisite, not like any other car I’ve ever driven, you feel everything and that’s your nanny system, otherwise you wouldn’t know what to do!

I’ve raced a variety of vehicles in my life from karts to the Baja 500 & 1000, to some lower level NASCAR stuff, and a lot of sports car racing, m but Daytona, in the rain, in a Porsche, was something else!
My main reason for not driving my GT3 in the rain is because it’s too clean at the moment! 🤪 I’m sure I’ll cave at some point.

You're not going to believe this........ it's STILL RAINING. There was a brief moment yesterday when it let up for a bit and I was wrapping things up to get out, even if just for 15 minutes or so. Nope....... started raining again.
Do I need another throat punch? I'm leaving town today for a few weeks.
The main reason I haven't just gone on out in the rain?
The rear tires are maybe 10% at best. Fronts are close to the same.
I really want my first drive to be long enough to get things warmed up so I can experience 5k+ RPM's. And I know once I do that, I will want it again and again and again and again.
This has been a tough test, holding off on my first drive.
I did receive these yesterday........

About a year ago we moved into a 1920's colonial. Haven't done anything substantial to the detached garage other than electric, a coat of white paint and thincrete on the floor. Here are a few shots of my GT3 (22K miles) and 01' 986S I picked up last winter (40K miles).
