Pireli P D3 Slick

I put Pirelli D4/D5 on for the last 2 days last season just to see what the difference would be. OH MY GOD!! There is such a difference between those and the Hoosiers I had been using for the last 3 years.
At Blackhawk in Rockton Il. I could consistently run 1:19 all day long. With the Pirelli's I was 2 seconds faster ans put up 1 lap of 1:15.8. I would say it would be hard to go back to Hoosiers. My car was under sprung so I think next year I will swap the springs. Good luck.

I ve checked the size and it's 295/680. The rear overall diam. mm/Inch is 680/26,77. vs mpsc 25,2. The front overall diam. (645/18) is 25,39. The height of the car is 12,3/11,5. Do you think it will be possible to put the slicks on the car and what will be the car's behaviour vs mpsc? Especially I think about rear 680/26,77.
Thanks guys for advance.

MM.....those are TOTALLY the wrong sizes for your car (and compound as D3 is the HARDEST!). That 295/680 is too narrow and too tall.
You want the slightly softer D4 compound (compared to D3) in the rear and the D5 in the front. The sizes to run are: Front 245/645 & Rear 305/645. The 680 is over an inch taller! NOT GOOD!!!

Thanks Dell
My friend offers me to exchange rear pirelli into Michelin 27/65-18 but I will still stay with front pirelli 235/645-18 d3. Is it possible to drive rear michelin and front pirelli and how they are vs pirelli?

That is something I would NOT do. Two factors working against you. Variance between the front and rear diameters and mismatches slicks. The characteristics of the Michelin and the Pirelli are very different.

You need to control the disparity between the sidewall heights so the rotation counters can send the correct message to the ABS computer. 2 wheels turning faster than the others at a constant speed for too long will produce fault codes.
You need to run 650 Front and 650 Rear heights if you can. 645 Front and 650 rear might work????
Front width should be between 230 and 250 for the 8.5 inch or 9 inch wide wheel.
As Dell said, run the same brand / compound tire, especially with the slicks. If not, you'll never discover good operation. There are different heat tolerances, side wall behaviors, compounds, camber setting preferences, traction capabilities, temperatures, etc. Yes the car will move forward on them as different brands, but it will not be a situation to make your car perform better and may not be safe.
You do have the monoball components for shock mounts and some suspension arms right? If not, you'll pull those rubber bushings all around and it will be a very hard to handle vehicle.

Pirelli 305/645 D4 rear 245/645 D5 front.
Michelin 24/64-18 S7A front 27/65-18 S8A rear
Michelin slightly lower lap times initially but good for about 5-6 HC"s then drop off considerably. Their life span is about 2 hours. The Pirelli's are good for 8-10 really good HC's and then SLOWLY drop off all the way to 18-20 HC"s.
