Hey Arnie, mind if chime in? I feel like I have a horse in this race since I run with most of the drivers you're discussing. I'm not sure if you remember me, I was the guy that came up to you at the Nov. Chin event and apologized for taking a pass in T1 without a point...I still hate that I did that to you by the way. I guess I was thinking "he knows me and isn't going to want me on his ***" anyway, I publicly apologize and it wont happen again!
Just for my clarification... when you mentioned the X package Koni Challenge cars sporting 380 hp...did something change? because when I built my Grand Am GS class 997 racecar it had to be based on the 3.6 engine (325 hp) and the X51 package is based on the 3.8 engine (like Bill Timmerman's Synergy built car)...I was just wondering if there was a rule change since my old car is still being companied in Koni Challenge.

As for the Koni 997's I was told that they had the X51 . You have built a car for that series so I'm sure you are correct, sorry for the mistake. My info came from the guys at Synergy, I must of gotten the cars and series mixed up.

John, no problem with that pass I did get my hand out to signal the pass at the last minute, you were pretty much around me at that point. Didn't want the corners to flag either of us, I should of had my head up a little sooner.

With regard to the whole cup car "what if" conversation (and no I'm not going there about Dell) for me personally, I found that my cup car (I had an updated 2002) was easier to drive then my 997 GS car. The GS car was on Hoosier R6's and the cup car was on Dunlop slicks...Driving the GS car hard was like driving on ice compared to the grip you get on slicks. Wolf's 2:02 or 2:03 in a 997 GS car blew me away because the brakes on a GS car are horrible and to be that fast in that car it has to be loose as hell...which is a 9.9 on a 10 pucker scale.
My thought on the "virtual lap of VIR" (again just my personal opinion), is that "finding time" below 2:00 is not only very difficult for a good driver, but has less to do with car parts and more to do with man parts.

yes, i think you picked up seats in the nicer garage. can't let wife know all the "crap" i have collected. the hidden garage is self sufficient... just in case i get kicked out of the house.
