Thanks for sharing the cool road trip. And welcome to the club. The car will continue to amaze you well into your ownership. Be sure to check the alignment -- these cars really shine with a good set up (and can be a handful without one).

Cheers.

What are the correct alignment specs...for a car that is 70% track 30% street?

I think you'll find that many here who do as much track work as you are anticipating use the Roland Kussmaul settings, or a variation on those settings. Try a search for "GT3 Kussmaul Settings." Of course, alignment is pretty personal, so you may need to experiment a bit. There are many here with far more knowledge than I have re alignment, and if you ask I'm sure you'll get more info. My settings likely wouldn't work well for you since I'm not doing nearly as much track work.

Good luck. A dialed-in 996GT3 is a beautiful thing.

whoever said this car is only good for the track and no good for the road is missing a whole lot of fun. I think the Kausimall? setting are too harsh for someone that tracks infrequently. I think they are on the aggrassive side unless you are an experienced track junkie. My advice (and that of my cup car driving instructor) is to start a little softer.

Welcome to Nirvana.

Hey, Jetmech! You must be the guy I talked with at Shoreline. I'm the guy with the Red GT3! Good to hear your trip went so well. Love the car. Now I wish I would have gotten the Euro seats, wing and bar...
