tire marks

I'm with Mooty on this one as well. I use Miracle wash for most of the car, but use Griot's hand polish for under the side skirts. My arms sting like hell after all that polishing, so perhaps the orbital route is the better one. I, too, like to see those rubber worms in the wheels wells. They make me feel like I am getting my money's worth on the track!
One last thing - Mooty has an RS! How is he supposed to go big pimpin' around the Bay area on the weekend with a dirty car????

if you track your GT3, the underside of your side skirt must have a LOT of tire marks. miracle wash or 3m adhesive remover wont cut it. put the car on jack stand, get a orbital polisher and fine grade polish and put some force on the polisher, EVERYTHING came off... just thought i share.

Spray on Miracle wash works fine. The side skirts get the most abuse and back on a thick layer of rubber, hence the need for a more industrial cleaner. Between Miracle Wash and a hand polish, I can get the car back to new within 1-1.5 hours.

I have had no luck getting ALL marks off of sideskirts and right in front of rear wheels. Some of the marks laugh at bug and tar remover. My car is white. I will try Mootys method......

Trj - Unfortunately, I have found keeping my GT3 clean is similar to keeping a fine dress shirt stain free.... one must apply the cleaner quickly before the stain sets. After every track day (or at maximum track weekend) I wipe the car down with Miracle Wash and a dry, 100% cotton rag. This gets off 90% of the marks, and I also find using polish and a rag to be much easier on the remaining 10%. Mooty's method of the orbital sounds like a good idea for the stubborn stains.

That's one sure advantage of black paint... the worms just melt away visually into the paint.

This is a timely post. I've been eyeing the Griot's random orbital machine... anyone using this out there? Results?
Just THINKING about cleaning a car makes me want to grab a beer...

I purchased the Griot's product a few years ago. Mine plugs into the wall as opposed to using air. Anyway, it works quite well on my black speedster for polishing and waxing. I would highly recommend it. I hope to try it our for rubber marks over the holiday, so will be sure to keep you guys posted...
