Diamond Glass (big chain) $990 for windshield with rain sensor and antenna. Very professional group. Most dealerships and body shops call these, or equal, in for these.

I'll give my agent a call tomorrow. Thanks.

Talked to my agent and glass is NOT something covered in NC. I have a deduc of $500 for "collision" or "comprehensive".

Anyway, so I called 2 vendors:

1. Diamond Glass $741 installed
2. Safelite $654 installed

I also asked for a quote on my new Escalade. If you can believe this, it is only $254 for that car! And it has rain sensor, etc.!!!!!! WTF is going on with pricing.

So my question is why would I go with Diamond if they are $100 more? Maybe I'll call them to see if they "price match".

Rob, any luck in your search?

I haven't had a chance to call my insurance agent to see if I'm covered. I'd think I'm in the same boat as you regarding the deductible except mine was changed to $1k (originally $0 ) when I added the GT3 to the policy.

Do those vendors use OEM glass?

I'm thinking I'd source the glass myself and then have a local installer do the job. I'm going to call my local p-dealer too.

Oh yeah, I can't imagine installing the windshield to be too hard of a job.

Dell, what does Synergy charge for a windshield and the tearoffs? I almost forgot about them.

So here's the deal. I am having my local dealer do the install. They have to order the parts and they source the labor to only one place here locally that has an "authorized" porsche glass installer. It came to about $750 at the dealer. needless to say I am going with the dealer

The tearoffs are $250 for a 4-ply and $150 for a 2-ply. Install is 1 hr labor.
